As an HR Executive, I've witnessed the detrimental effects of work/life imbalance and lack of career development on employee engagement and retention. Shockingly, in 2023, 27% of U.S. workers left their jobs, costing employers nearly a trillion dollars. The primary drivers behind this turnover were insufficient career opportunities, health and family issues, and poor work/life balance. It's evident that personalized approaches are now crucial for retention.
