Every action you take is a vote for the person you want to become.

It needs to be looked in a completely different perspective. What an unfortunate situation - the only non govt metro service in India is up for sale from many years. Primarily because of investments beyond feasibility & subsidised tariff. Not operational losses. Is it a lesson to be learnt that primary infra services in India, need to be compulsorily govt owned with a not for profit (not for loss too 😉 ) motive? Or atleast the first player has to be public owned and private operated ? Hence, Postal services, LIC, Railways, RTC etc to be definitely owned by Govt but operated privately? One can expect operational profits but not return on the initial investment, which only the government can bear the pain. Hope the top bosses at Delhi hear to my PoV. 🙏 🙏

As many of you know, I used to be the Chair of the Libertarian National Committee. The new management installed in 2022 has been an abject failure and disgrace, and it should be a critical priority for all libertarians and supporters of mutual aid, equal justice, and self determination to replace them as soon as possible. Here's how we do it together.

Challenges facing states States face complex challenges in their efforts to protect public safety, reduce recidivism, respond to the unique needs of justice-involved individuals returning to communities from jail and prison, and improve services for victims of crime. State policymakers are concerned about upticks in violent crime, high rates of recidivism, increases in overdose deaths, rebounding prison populations, and the need for quality mental health services. Public policy responses tested throughout the country, however, show there are effective ways to understand and address these concerns while ensuring public safety. JRI solution Through the Justice Reinvestment Initiative (JRI), state leaders work with experts to conduct agency-spanning data analysis; develop and implement data-driven, tailored solutions to address complicated criminal justice challenges; and maximize resources to achieve stronger and safer communities.

I appreciate this analogy. We tend to use terms like ‘clogged’ and ‘congested’ for both roads and veins. There is some measure of similarity between them. They are literal pathways and delivery networks between points of interest/destinations. Similar to our anatomical network of veins, there are various sizes of roads that network to connect us to our destinations. From major highways to collector roads and even smaller access roads, they play a role in our ability to support our populations. But sometimes we are guilty of putting too much emphasis on the road and not enough on either the entire network or the destinations. Perhaps keeping in mind that roads are not our ultimate objective could help us solve issues of ‘clogged’ and ‘congested’, which like our anatomical parts, lead to ‘stress’ and ‘unhealthy’ or worse. Putting a greater emphasis on overall network health and safety could potentially transform how we move. That’s why Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell’s proposed Choose How You Move referendum is so groundbreaking. It focuses on the foundational measures of health and safety that need improving now. We already have pretty great roads in Nashville. What we need are safer sidewalks, smarter traffic signals, and safer access to updated bus services.
