The April 18, 2024 article from the American Bankers Association (ABA) Banking Journal noted that 80% of all suspicious activity reported by banks involved elder scams. read more at : https://lnkd.in/gvduGRmU

"This system is rigged" We've been working with Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) to use novel digital techniques listen to how people who are experiencing poverty are talking about it online. It's a window into the reality of people's lives, the impact on their mental health and the incredible insights and understanding they have of the systems and institutions of the state that they are subject to. It shows up all the fault lines in the benefits system and the growing distrust in the state to help them. You can hear people worrying about the post office crisis and what it means for automated decision-making and the government's increasingly powers to investigate people's private bank accounts to identify fraud. People feel surveilled and struggle to find their ways through the systems they can't avoid.
