During my September 2023, trip to Ladakh, India, I witnessed a remarkable example of the impact we can create when we actively choose to initiate change, rather than waiting for it to happen passively. It highlighted the power of proactive efforts towards positive causes. The video depicts the lavatory in Nubra Valley, Ladakh, India, where @Dunes.kids exemplified the positive impact individuals can have for a good cause. It underscores the potential for collective action by the community and local authorities (panchayat) when we unite towards a common goal. This serves as a reminder that our actions shape the changes we aspire to see, and it's a lesson that governments, present and future, can learn from to truly enhance India's greatness. Education is critical to the economic prosperity of every economy. It is essential to raise the educational levels of the poor for higher economic growth.The main issues faced by the weaker sections is the facilities themselves. Most of us here know the importance of education. It's a basic need, equally important as food, clothing or shelter. While many consider education merely as a means to generate income, it's not the most important aspect of it. Sure, education has the capability to lift someone from the evils of poverty such as poor health and hunger, satisfy our materialistic wants, and also help our nation grow along with us. However, what I consider the most important purpose of education is the independence it provides. It helps us expand our knowledge and the range of experiences available to us in this world, align our skills and passions, and give us a unique identity or a purpose in life. That's why education should not be seen just as a tool for earning money. Many in our country still view it this way, and that's one of the key reasons why many girl children are denied education, especially higher education. They ask, "Why do they need education if all they are going to do is take care of the family and children? Why do they need education if they can comfortably sit at home doing mundane household chores?( While some of us men do know how difficult household chores are!) What such people don't realise is that they are denying women free will, the ability to make choices of their own based on their dreams and passion. Forget free will, they are not even made aware of the choices they have, apart from being a good mother and a wife. By denying them education, we are cutting their wings. Would we be happy to be a bird moving around here and there searching for worms, merely watching the sky and seeing other birds chirp and fly happily, wherever they wish? Some of us would be content to be so, but atleast we have a choice, while many girls do not even have that. That's why there is a need to spread awareness about higher education for girls all over the country. The sad fact is that only 58% of our girls are enrolled in higher secondary education. So, what can we do about it? Most of us, including me, are too busy taking care of our own dreams and lives. But we can still do simple acts of kindness such as sharing the post, contributing a small amount to the cause, or volunteering in our locality during our free time. CRY ( Child Rights and You ) is an organisation that enables us to perform such acts of kindness and has been doing a good job in the last 4 decades for the basic rights and welfare of children. They have recently started a campaign, helping girl children get higher secondary education, which I have shared here. Let's do our best in helping them create a better life for girl children in whatever ways we can!

NGO (non-governmental organization): a group that functions independently of any government intending to improve social conditions. NGOs are typically non-profit institutions and are sometimes called civil society organizations. They operate on community, national, and international levels to serve social or political goals, such as humanitarian causes, environmental protection, health, or advocacy for minority rights. NGOs are a vital part of any economy. They are important because they address various issues and challenges in the world and improve the lives of people and communities. Which includes: - Providing medical care, clean water, sanitation, and food. - Promoting social, environmental, and human rights causes. - Fostering research, education, and citizen participation. Unfortunately, being such a vital part of society doesn't stop the hazards and challenges coming towards these NGOs.
