Thanks to The Belt Railway Company of Chicago and the Traffic Club of Chicago for hosting a great event and inviting our members to participate! Thanks to Michael Zaura, CEM, REP for taking the lead as our CSCMP Chicago Roundtable Tours Chair! Where would you like to see us go next?
Helping companies reduce Energy costs | Energy Procurement | Green Energy | Sustainability Planning & Execution | Bundled/Unbundled RECs | Energy Risk Management | Solar Consultation
Couldn’t have had a more beautiful morning than we did on our tour of The Belt Railway Company of Chicago! Traffic Club of Chicago and CSCMP Chicago Roundtable spent the morning seeing how 8,000 rail cars per day travel through their facility and how they manage it. Such a unique operation as CSX, CN, Norfolk Southern, Canadian Pacific, Union Pacific Railroad, and BNSF Railway utilize this rail junction as owners and customers. Incredibly, this facility has been in operation since 1882 and continues to serve a critical role in our Supply Chain. Special thanks to Percy Fields and Mike Martinez for leading the tour along with the rest of their team. Thanks for having us!
