This Olympic-scale implementation offers valuable insights for smart city initiatives. ➡️ NLP at scale - The introduction of advanced Olympic chatbots showcases the maturation of NLP technologies. AI is even infiltrating the Olympics, what could possibly go wrong? Jovial cynicism aside, I am both unsurprised and apprehensive about AI once again being introduced (forced!?) into a setting that potentially has little real need for it. This article is a little light on actual detail, and (in my view) goes off on a tangent regarding deepfakes, however, it will be very interesting to see if Intel's plans actually enhance the viewer experience or just tick the box as a marketing activity. The rhetoric is pretty strong: "In Paris, we will elevate this endeavour to an entirely new echelon.". So let's hope it can live up to the hype!
