Terraform has recently updated its licensing terms, transitioning from the Mozilla Public License v2.0 to the Business Source License. Users of Terraform version later than 1.5 should be aware of the new stipulations, especially regarding the prohibition of using Terraform to offer services in direct competition with those of HashiCorp. In response to these changes, the community has developed a compatible alternative named OpenTofu.
