As we enter Mental Health Month this May, it is with great pride that we continue the tradition established in 1949 by Mental Health America. Every year, millions of Americans join us in promoting awareness, providing vital resources and education, and advocating for the mental health and well-being of all. This year’s theme for Mental Health Month is “Where to Start: Mental Health in a Changing World.” In a world that is constantly evolving, it can be overwhelming to navigate the various challenges and changes happening around us. The pressures of work, relationships, and societal factors, like politics, climate change, and the economy, can significantly impact our mental well-being, sometimes even more than we realize. —Schroeder Stribling, President and CEO of Mental Health America @mentalhealthamerica #wheretostart #mayismentalhealthawarenessmonth💚

🌿 Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week! 🌿 Today, our office is a vibrant sea of green as we come together to support Mental Health Awareness Week. Wear It Green Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of mental health and the need to foster an environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and understood. Here are a few reasons why this day is so important to us: 💚 Promotes Awareness: Mental health issues affect millions, yet many suffer in silence. Raising awareness can encourage those struggling to seek help. 💚 Encourages Open Dialogue: Talking about mental health openly can reduce stigma and promote a culture of support and understanding. 💚 Shows Solidarity: Wearing green is a simple yet powerful way to show that mental health matters and that no one has to face their struggles alone. Let’s continue to support each other, not just today, but every day. Together, we can create a workplace where mental well-being is a priority and everyone feels valued and heard Alison Emptage Sarah Gordon (Langford) Michelle Nunkoo Vinita Bonini Roxanne Moss jamie mccrindle Kate Gaskell Katie Rock (Powley) (she/her) Eleanor Smith MCIPD Corinne Lewis #iwork4dell #delltechnologies #MentalHealthAwareness #WearItGreenDay #MentalWellbeing

As we come together to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month/Week, it's vital to acknowledge the impact mental health has on our lives, both personally and professionally. Let's use this time to amplify our commitment to mental well-being, not just this month, but every day. In our workplaces, creating a culture of understanding and support for mental health is paramount. Encouraging open conversations, providing resources for mental health education, and promoting self-care practices are essential steps toward building a healthier work environment. Let's also remember that mental health is not a one-size-fits-all issue. Each person's journey is unique, and it's important to approach mental health with empathy, respect, and inclusivity. By breaking down stigmas and barriers, we can create a more compassionate society where seeking help is not only accepted but encouraged. Together, let's pledge to prioritize mental well-being, support each other, and work towards a future where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #WellnessAtWork

It's AANHPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month! Let's take time to get real and openly discuss mental health considerations and challenges for the AANHPI community. By supporting one another, we can tackle such challenges together. Thanks to Sharon Bailey, Angela Wang, Tabitha Ashura, and the Danaher Corporation for the opportunity to lead a meaningful session with 170+ employees to get real. During this session, we emphasized the importance of leveraging our identity as a superpower while discussing the challenges faced by the AANHPI community, including common sources of stress which impact mental health. As Sharon Bailey said, sharing stories and having real discussions help people "feel not so alone. It's empowering for people to know others are thinking/feeling the same things they are." Remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The more we openly discuss our concerns, the more likely we are to effectively address them not just this month, but beyond. Let's continue to support one another and create a safe space to have these important conversations. #AANHPIHeritageMonth #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

I am proud to share two one-pagers created by a workgroup I led for USC employees related to internal and external resources for mental health. This was a group effort designed to assist our community in finding help when needed. Thank you to the workgroup members who contributed to this effort. Please share widely with USC employees (internal resources) and the public at large (external resources) as you never know who might need guidance with mental health issues.
