Tom Vaughn recently stepped down as CEO of DTG Recycle, a Washington-based C&D recycling company. According to DTG, Vaughn left “to concentrate on his philanthropic environmental stewardship passions.” Vaughn had no further comment when reached Monday. An interim board management committee, chaired by longtime waste executive Kevin Walbridge, will now lead the company, according to private equity backer Macquarie. DTG founder Dan Guimont is now chief operating officer. Margins and sales continue to be a challenge for many enterprises. Regarding our regional presence, we stressed that we provide customized services tailored to each region. Given our continuous activities in various parts of Asia, we can quickly adapt and incorporate any changes in ESG requirements into our reports and services. In particular, RecyGlo is currently experiencing meaningful growth in the Australian market. This is because the ESG requirements are quite stringent in that region. Asset managers are turning to a practice known as 'green hushing' when it comes to sustainable funds. Green hushing is the act of removing the label "sustainable" from the name of a fund in order to downplay its environmental focus. Though the number of funds that added "sustainable" to their name was more than double the amount in the first half of 2023, the number of funds that removed the label was also more than double. This is concerning news for the climate, as it shows that asset managers are not prioritizing sustainability in their funds and could be shifting away from their commitments to the environment.
