A useful read of cybersecurity predictions in 2024 from some of the leaders in the industry (part 1 is in the same link). Many predict the continuing use of generative AI and deepfakes in targeted phishing attacks that we saw in 2023. Also troubling is the increasing volatility amongst ransomware gangs, some which have turned to new methods such as "contacting the SEC directly, reporting victims immediately to inflict maximum damage, forcing regulatory, reputational and class action liabilities". See below for more.

My prediction for 2024? Many companies will have a cybersecurity incident. Those who focus on: 1. cybersecurity basics (MFA, EDR etc.), 2. outcomes vs operating "stuff" 3. protecting their business resilience ....will have a MUCH better 2024 than those who don't. #2024predictions #2024success #cybersecurity #cybersecurityjourney James Tomlinson Loïc Calvez Ketan Kapadia Jeff Hewitt Troy Foley David Senf Tyler Desjardins Dan Lohrmann Dan Elliott Jack Brooks Jonathan Weekes, CRISC Dave Dhillon Dr. Chase Cunningham Tracey Nyholt Luc Gagne
