Saïd Business School, University of Oxford's recent study has given us a glimpse into CEOs' mindset shift from focusing on cybersecurity to cyber resilience. The report reveals the significant impact that major cyber incidents have on CEOs, leaving them feeling ill-prepared to handle the aftermath. Enterprises today must move beyond simply shoring up their cybersecurity defenses to the more complex but critical task of building organizational cyber resilience. Meeting this challenge requires, above all, executive leadership. This brings to mind the Cisco Security Readiness Index, which reveals only 15% of organizations worldwide are prepared to tackle a hybrid world's security risks - highlighting the urgent need for organizations to step up their game and enhance their overall readiness in the face of constantly evolving cyber threats. So, what can Executives do to foster cyber resilience in their organizations? It starts with defining what resilience means for the organization, adopting a risk-based approach, and integrating it into the fabric of the entire organization. More insights in this report on four mindset shifts are required to build resilience. https://lnkd.in/gycENAhc #Cybersecurity #Technology #Leadership

It was an honor to join the Australian Embassy Tokyo, Deputy Director-General and Ambassador in charge of Cyber Policy for Japan, and Leaders from the LDP at the inaugural Public-Private Symposium on Cybersecurity. The event underscored the critical role of international collaboration in combatting global cyber threats, with communication, trust and partnership as the pillars of success. The discussions were thought-provoking, and I was especially energized by the diverse perspectives of my esteemed panelists: Joshua Kennedy-White, Alastair MacGibbon, Hamish Hansford, Jonathan Rubinsztein, Clive Reeves PSM, Tokuyuki Ted Sato, Derek Bopping, and Matt Wilcox As many of you know, I'm a strong advocate for public-private partnerships, and it was an amazing opportunity to share the partnership initiatives Google is leading here in Japan: 1. Establishing a Cybersecurity Center of Excellence in Japan: This center will foster collaboration and innovation, empowering the Japan to become a global leader in cybersecurity. 2. 10,000 scholarships for Google Certified in Cyber Security in Japanese: We're committed to building a skilled cybersecurity workforce in Japan, and these scholarships will equip individuals with the knowledge and credentials they need to thrive in this critical field. 3. $15 million Google.org grant to bolster cybersecurity capabilities across APAC: This grant will support vital research, training programs, and awareness initiatives, strengthening the region's overall cybersecurity posture. A special thanks to Ambassador Justin Hayhurst, Brendan Dowling, Claire E. Vivien Lim and their team for hosting such an amazing event and underscored the importance of public-private partnerships in building a safer digital future. #Cybersecurity #PublicPrivatePartnership #TokyoSymposium
