Simon West, our Director of Customer Engagement, had the privilege of attending the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group's Annual Summit last week. It was an excellent opportunity for us to exchange knowledge and strengthen the collaboration between the cyber community and the network of businesses involved. Some hot topics of discussion were: 1️⃣ The impact of the Cyber Resilience Centres on awareness and education of cyber resilience among SMEs. This includes how we address the under-reporting of online crime and how to effectively scale engagement with SMEs through the successful NCRCG National Ambassador Programme. 2️⃣ Addressing the skills crisis. This involves building a cyber-resilient workforce to protect future generations through the expansion of the NCRCG workplace-ready talent pipeline program, Cyber PATH, which works to alleviate the national skills crisis while enabling ongoing, accessible support for SMEs to improve their cyber resilience. 3️⃣ De-Risking the supply chain - working collaboratively to support SMEs in the fight against cybercrime and accelerating the protection of the UK small business community against cyber risks and attacks. Learn more about the NCRCG and its mission to strengthen cyber resilience across the UK and beyond: https://lnkd.in/gZYAnRT4 #CRCSummit2024 #CyberResilience #CyberRisk

I’m excited to be speaking at the Australian Cyber Conference #CyberCon2023 in Melbourne, organized by Australian Information Security Association (AISA), joining renowned leaders across the global #cybersecurity landscape. Melbourne and it’s broader #cyber ecosystem will be a key focus during our visit to #Australia with a cohort of 14 UK businesses and innovators as part of Innovate UK's cyber security Global Business Innovation Programme #GBIP. Details of businesses in the cohort can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eDBcGXsj. We’ll be engaging with Australian stakeholders across industry, government, and local cyber communities with opportunities to learn about regional priorities, develop business insights, make new contacts and create partnerships to advance project ideas and innovations. In a world of ever-increasing digital connectivity, the way that cyber security has been chasing flaws and vulnerabilities in products, services and systems has become unsustainable. We need strong technology foundations that can protect software vulnerabilities from exploitation by design. Governments have an important role to play in this transition and I’ll be telling a story about how the UK is leading a step-change through Digital Security by Design (DSbD) #DSbD for a more secure, safer and resilient digital future.

As we mark European Cybersecurity Month, it offers an important opportunity to celebrate Ireland’s increasing standing in the world and the achievements of Irish companies in this sector. Given the fact that Ireland has an established reputation as being a global tech hub, it will come as no surprise that Irish tech companies are going from strength to strength in the international cybersecurity sector, with a growing reputation as being a global leader in this sector, which focuses on mitigating and managing threats to online systems. The calibre of Irish companies coming through the ranks is increasingly innovative and competitive, and the local ecosystem is constantly building its core capabilities and supporting the development of these firms. Much of this is due to Government investment in the Irish cyber sector, and Enterprise Ireland supports 60 companies in the cyber cluster here. Together, these have over $300m (€285m) in annual revenue. That support is not the only driver, however. Today’s growth can also be attributed to the convergence of well-aligned initiatives and collaboration from industry, academia and Government. #IrishCybersecurity #EnterpriseIreland #GlobalImpact #CybersecurityFirms #TechInnovation #CyberSecuritySolutions #InternationalBusiness #TechStartups #PelionCyberSecurity
