Dale Vince’s Post

Green Industrialist, Labour’s Green Knight according to Sunday Times. Founder of Ecotricity, Skydiamond, BritWind, Devil’s Kitchen & Green Britain Foundation. Chairman of Forest Green Rovers. UN Climate Change Champion

On site with the #BBC - ahead of the #MassiveAttack gig. It’s the first event of its size to be powered entirely without diesel and following a fab new eco standard known as Act 1.5. Energy, Transport and Food are the three big areas of focus - 80% of all carbon emissions are in those areas of life. And this event is entirely plant based - very chuffed to have helped make that happen. This event sets a new standard for others to follow (hopefully).

Climate Change will impact us all, and it is my belief that everyone, both individuals and companies, have the power to take actions, either small or large, to abate Climate Change.

Great initiative. How many batteries and what capacity are required to power the whole event?

While this might be true and positive it’s an area where conflict of interest easily occurs, mixing of political ideas and engagement with own business interests demonstrated daily by the Tories we got rid of out of this reason. You know this is not black and white and there are mostly statements and little learning here, in my opinion what is needed among young and old is the scientific truth and evidence not words we were pumped full of the last 14 years. So a positive comment from my side. Your products, batteries and windmill blades are also having impacts on human rights, health, soil and oceans, air we breath and in the end impact nature negatively with the consequences of climate changing. Your sustainability assessment should reflect the balance and impacts of vector facts and consequences presented in your sustainability protocol. Is it available?

Dale Vince is the power all from solar and batteries or are there any plant oil generators onsite? Looking forward to the event!

Dale... really want to do some good lets talk.. its out there to do and we know how now... lets work together to stop 10,000 vulnerable people in our communities still dying from cold homes every winter.. and stop the £460 million a year negative impact on our NHS as a consequence... We have the solutions in focus that work from every perspective right now environmentally, economically, ethically..... If we all work together we can stop this scandalous loss of life in Britain every winter right now... saving millions of ton's in carbon emissions in the process.. it will cost you nothing to be involved.. I'm Here to share if your interested.. my mobile is 07548203030 my email is [email protected] have a great Bank Holiday weekend.. cheers Andy..

This is such an important step in delivering more sustainable live events. Best wishes Dale Vince and all those who involved this weekend! Another important part of the event is that there is no car park - it will be interesting to see if those attending take advantage of the extra public transport being put on, or if there will be a long line of cars dropping and picking up before and after...let's hope not. With there being incentives for those who travel by public transport, the organisers are doing all they can.

Looking forward to it 🤘- impressive to see a non-genset powered open air event in practicality. I wonder if there's a festival scale threshold where this does or doesn't work, (maybe its entirely scaleable!). Great stuff regardless.

Great to see people pushing the boundaries & trying new ideas. I'm sure some teething problems will occur, but good luck to all involved in exploring new ways of working

You know as well as any Dale Vince that this is not new. The Green Gathering which you attended last year has been an offgrid genset free event for decades. But fair play you’re getting the column inches with your massive attack partnership! Even the Beeb were fauning over this apparently unique idea of running an event off grid…
