Today, I had the opportunity to join Professor Tim Koba's Strategic Management in Sports class at High Point University to discuss the power of data in strategic planning and decision-making. We analyzed Peacock's decision to pay the NFL a whopping 110 million dollars for a single playoff game in the wild-card round. By applying data analysis techniques, we identified key performance indicators and benchmarked the data to make the final call on the success of the effort. Spoiler alert: it may just end up being a smart move by Peacock and Comcast.
