Happy Pride Month 🌈 At Danfoss, we take Pride in the diversity of our people. They are the foundation of our success. As part of our continuous efforts to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive, we established 46 active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). They are globally organized under five themes: Abilities, Gender, Generations, Multicultural and Nations and Pride. Danfoss’ ERGs create an environment of belonging through communities of shared identity and interests. They also help us identify and remove existing barriers for inclusion. As we celebrated Pride Month, our Pride ERGs took the lead in promoting organizational understanding on how to be a good ally — an essential building block for an inclusive and safe workplace. As global Pride celebrations end, our joint efforts with our Pride ERGs continue. We are committed to shaping Danfoss into an even more inclusive workplace where everyone thrives and has a sense of belonging, regardless of how they identify. Happy Pride! 🌍 Celebrate Diversity 🌈 👀 During European Diversity Month, we'd like to take a closer look at the focus topics of our strategy for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Today, we're pleased to share our actions on #AgeAndGeneration, #Diversity and #Internationality. 👉 In most industrialized nations, birth rates have fallen significantly. As a result, there are fewer people of younger ages, while the number of older people is increasing. 14% of our employees will retire in the next five to ten years. When people retire, a company always loses a lot of experience. Of course, Knorr-Bremse has already taken countermeasures to actively tackle this challenge: 📍 On the one hand, mentoring programs already help to retain knowledge. 📍 On the other hand, suitable successors must be sought across divisions and countries – and as early as possible. We are currently working on a network to address these challenges more effectively. 📍 To increase international exchange and collaboration, we're supporting employees to gain cultural awareness or spend time abroad. This will help fill talent gaps and foster a diverse culture. Building a more inclusive workplace has to be a year-round journey. But at the same time, we also need standout moments to raise awareness, champion inclusivity and celebrate the work we’re doing to get there. Free to Be Week is our annual moment to do exactly that, bringing together our people to help build a workplace where people feel Free to Be their full selves! Free to Be Week 2024 kicks off today, and this year’s theme is ‘Free to Be United’ – which we’re bringing to life through a wide variety of activities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. From our Free to Be Conversations – discussions ranging from working in global teams to the importance of Human Rights – to a listening session to better understand attitudes towards LGBTQI+ colleagues, identity exploration workshops with Creative Girls Rock®, and various local volunteering and training sessions, this week we’re highlighting the unity we have in diversity at Bridgestone. At Knorr-Bremse we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. As we celebrate Diversity Month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating a workplace that embraces people from all walks of life. 🌟 Reflecting on 2023: Catalyzing Inclusion Across Ecosystems & Opportunities! 🌍 Last year was a journey dedicated to catalyzing inclusion across diverse landscapes. Being a part of the ILO GBDN Conference as a panelist, discussing inclusive employment in the SME sector, was a pivotal experience, spotlighting the vital role SMEs play in fostering inclusive opportunities. Thank you Jürgen Menze and Aria Tung for the opportunity. Guiding and mentoring persons with disabilities for meaningful work placements was profoundly rewarding. Witnessing their growth and empowerment reinforced the importance of accessible opportunities within our workforce. Moreover, collaborating with institutions to prepare them for an inclusive workforce became a cornerstone. From fostering supplier diversity to championing inclusive product design, our efforts aimed to broaden the scope of inclusion within every facet of these ecosystems. As I move into 2024, the focus remains steadfast on propelling towards a more inclusive world. The journey to inclusivity isn't just a collective effort but a deeply personal commitment. Every stride made, every opportunity amplified, contributes to a world where diversity isn't just embraced but celebrated. The different engagements and support have been invaluable in this journey. Let's continue this momentum, ensuring that every step forward is a testament to our dedication towards a more inclusive tomorrow.
