Four days into the campaign and so far I have been keeping my counsel. But the more I see the more I'm inclined the opinion that the Prime Minister and his team are not just trying to lose the election but to scuttle the Conservative Party so that it vanishes from existence. A generation (generations actually) of people are priced out of a housing market that has essentially been rigged in favour of their parents and grandparents. The Conservative Party's response is now to tell them that the answer is to be conscripted into National Service to get them "out of their bubble". What could possibly go wrong? When the election was called it was clear that a Labour victory was baked in but I thought that the polls would narrow. Much more of this nonsense and the next leader of the Conservative Party won't even be the leader of His Majesty's loyal opposition let alone Prime Minister.

We'll introduce a bold new model of National Service. To up-skill the next generation, make our nation secure & build a stronger national culture. Whether in the Armed Forces or volunteering in our NHS, every young person will do their duty to build a secure future for the UK.
