How are we bringing to life the complexity of the food system for the average resident? It's always difficult articulating our role in tackling a "wicked problem" , especially to the general public who aren't immersed in food systems but who are deeply effected by the broken system. We've just launched a new approach to advocacy to help residents understand the issue and can see their role. One part of this is a short promotional video. "Often, we overlook the abundance at our doorstep 🚪. Fascinating isn't it, how our hardworking farmers 🌾 sell their organically grown, nutrient-rich produce, yet they return home laden with processed foods? 🍔🍕Switching places from the seller to the consumer, their family tables groan under less nutritious meals. The bitter irony - growing health, selling health, but not consuming health. 😔 Not to mention the cans and plastic packaging that pollute our priestine environments. We are all a product of what we eat. The phrase "You are what you eat" has never resonated more. The very wealth 💰 we derive from our farms could be the key 🗝️ in our dietary choices. The money that can be saved to achieve our family goals of building permanent homes, proper toilets, our children's and our own educational fees. An idea 💡 worth sharing, don't you think?
