Thanks to Illinois Ventures for believing in us when our "product" was just a reprogrammed router duct-taped to the back of a solar panel!
Ever wondered about having seamless WiFi on a large scale at an outdoor event? Or deliver a similar level of connectivity to disaster zones or developing countries? Our portfolio company Mesh++ has the solution to bridging the digital divide! Mesh++ is an IoT company that provides WiFi nodes that are waterproof, moveable, and have amazing battery life. Danny Gardner founded Mesh++ as a senior design project at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2017. They won 2nd place in the Cozad New Venture Challenge and the Dr. Paul Magelli Innovation Prize in 2017. The picture below is of Danny Gardner making his remarks after winning the 2022 Young Alumni Achievement Award at the UIUC ECE Alumni Awards Banquet. We are thrilled to be backing Danny Gardner and the Mesh++ team for their work in making the world more connected. #Innovation #Technology #WiFi mHUB University of Illinois Research Park Technology Entrepreneur Center
haha! Yes, those who believe in the proof-of-concept are most precious! We sold $1.8m of the "crappy prototype" (my description)! Glad to see your tech can affect so many lives in a positive way.
Congrats!
Congratulations Danny!
What's the story here? Did they give you guys an investment? Just curious. And congrats on your success!
