Always providing the best support for customers is one of the keys to success as a sales engineer

Sales 1 Selling is the most challenging job on the earth 2 In the next 20 years of your carrier you will never ever have the perfect conditions to sell 3 no two customers are the same No two situations are the same Hence there is no one style/ method to sell 4 Rejection is parts of sales 5 it is important to be relentless & persistent as a sales professional. 6 Be genuinely concerned for the customers. Have the best interest for the customer at heart 7 you are the company , you are the brand. Everything you say or do will be reflection of the company

A roofing sales reps job is to sell. Plain and simple. They are not administrative people. They are not material runners. They are not supplementors. They are not quality control specialists. Their personal income is based on what they sell. Sure, there are some parts to that which are part of that process like... Signing agreements☑️ Meeting adjusters☑️ Signing contracts☑️ Collecting checks☑️ Servicing the client during a build☑️ And, maybe a few other things, depending on the model. Having them do things outside of that (like what I mentioned above) means they should be paid for work they are doing that does NOT have to do with sales. From my experience... Sales reps are not super organized people so its a mistake to have them even do things that require a high degree of organization. One might think that having them do those things might save the company money... But, I can assure you, it's costing the company MORE than it's saving it because it's keeping the sales team from doing what it does best... Selling.

Maintaining a good and long lasting relationship is what is important to a good sales person

I was asked recently what sales method I use and having done it for so long I have developed my own sales techniques. I also tailor my approach to suit the client. We all sell differently and I think you sell better using your own natural style. You cannot put a square cube in a round hole and what fits one does not always suit another. When training a salesperson I will give guidelines and suggestions and get them to think and plan their responses to anticipated questions but you cannot script a sales call without it coming over as false and insincere. There is no set format for a sales negotiation other than asking questions to find out information so that you can offer the best solution. In construction projects there are stages and timing can be everything so knowing how to track and identify who has the final decision are very important factors. I was once sent on a sales course with several colleagues and it was a complete waste because it was geared to the FMCG market and was completely irrelevant to building products and construction. One subject was reasons why sales are down and they mentioned "the weather" which everyone except people in construction thought was funny. Having an "off the shelf" sales pitch plan is not a good idea.

Offer them competitive pricing, reliable delivery, and excellent customer service. 3. *Highlight the benefits of rebar*: Educate local builders and contractors about the benefits of using high-quality rebar, such as increased structural integrity, durability, and resistance to corrosion. 4. *Offer competitive pricing and discounts*: Provide competitive pricing and consider offering discounts for bulk purchases or long-term contracts. 5. *Invest in local marketing*: Utilize local marketing channels like newspapers, radio, and social media to reach your target audience. 6. *Partner with local hardware stores*: Partner with local hardware stores and building material suppliers to stock your rebar and make it easily accessible to customers. 7. *Provide technical support*: Offer technical assistance and advice to customers on the proper use and installation of rebar. 8. *Explore government tenders*: Look into government tenders and contracts for infrastructure projects and bid on them to increase sales. 9. *Develop a loyalty program*: Create a loyalty program to reward repeat customers and encourage long-term relationships. 10. *Monitor and adjust*: Continuously monitor your sales efforts and adjust your strategy as needed to optimize results.
