We are incredibly proud to congratulate our DARCARS team member, Farzad Makarehchi, for receiving the "Individual Service Award" during the annual Distinguished Service Awards (DSA) presented by the Montgomery County Public Schools’ Board of Education (BOE). We are fortunate to have Farzad and his team as part of the DARCARS Organization. Their contribution has helped MCPS automotive programming to become one of the highest-regarded training programs in the United States. Each awardee is considered an outstanding educator in the automotive field and received keys to a brand new, all-electric Toyota bZ4X, providing tangible support for their ongoing journey as leaders in the automotive education landscape. The objective was to equip these educators with tangible knowledge of electric vehicles, enabling them to confidently educate the next generation of students. This year’s winners are recognized from across the DC metropolitan area, including the District of Columbia, Prince George’s County, Howard County, Fairfax County, and Montgomery County. DARCARS and The Automobile Dealer Education Institute (ADEI), along with the Washington Area New Automobile Dealers Association (WANADA) honored educational leaders yesterday during the Washington, D.C. Auto Show’s Public Policy Show Day. The highlight of the morning was the presentation of the prestigious Champions for Automotive Education awards to outstanding educators in the automotive field. Each awardee received keys to a brand new, all-electric Toyota bZ4X, representing tangible backing for their ongoing journey as champions in the automotive education landscape and their commitment to shaping the future generation. The objective was to provide these educators with firsthand experience of pure electric vehicles, empowering them to proficiently educate their students on maintaining and repairing electric vehicles. This year’s winners are recognized from across the DC metropolitan area, including the District of Columbia, Prince George’s County, Howard County, Fairfax County, and Montgomery County. Champions for Auto Education is a transformative journey that DARCARS has embarked on to elevate automotive education, with a specific focus on electric vehicle technology. Its members are composed mainly of auto technician instructors in the DMV region who are affiliated with ADEI’s auto technician school.
