Embracing the spotlight can be daunting, but with practice and mindset shifts, speaking in public can be mastered. Here are some tips to help overcome stage fear: 1️⃣ Preparation is Key: Research your topic thoroughly and practice multiple times. The more familiar you are with the content, the more confident you'll feel on stage. 2️⃣ Visualize Success: Close your eyes and visualize yourself speaking confidently and engaging your audience. Positive visualization can help build your confidence and reduce anxiety. 3️⃣ Control Your Breathing: Deep, slow breaths can help calm your nerves. Practice deep breathing exercises to manage anxiety before stepping on stage. 4️⃣ Connect with Your Audience: Remember that your audience is there to learn from you. Focus on delivering value and engaging with them. 5️⃣ Embrace Mistakes: It's natural to make mistakes. Instead of dwelling on them, use them as opportunities to learn and improve. Audiences appreciate authenticity. 6️⃣ Practice Mindfulness: Stay present in the moment. Mindfulness techniques can help you stay focused on your message instead of getting lost in anxious thoughts. 7️⃣ Seek Feedback: Ask for constructive feedback from trusted colleagues or mentors. Owner @ Consciousness2Wellness | Neuroscience-Based Coach | Guiding High Performers from burnout to significance without sacrificing success or fulfillment
Rest, break, pause, unwind, sleep... These words can be not only daunting, but downright terrifying for many of us (and yes, I've been there myself) 🚨 For some, the mere thought of taking a break leads to an internal battle. We become paralyzed by the fear that taking a break might label us as a: "failure," "underachiever," "mediocre," etc. 😱 We are terrified that: - We will fall behind 🏃 - We are not being strong enough to endure 😓 - We are being lazy 😴 So what do we do then? - We "push through" 💪 - We become trapped in a relentless cycle, insisting it's better not to take a break 🔄 When our dopamine is off the charts, our mind and body "relish" in the sensation. But when we finally slow down, we pay the price, and we may find ourselves running in overdrive simply to avoid the pain... Not only the physical one but also the emotional and mental pain of NOT knowing who we are when we're NOT: - Performing, - Over-delivering, or - Producing 😕 Don't get me wrong: doing and performing are essential for our existence. However, it's when we make performance the basis of our identity that things start to get convoluted. 🎭 Our system starts to run in overdrive, and we forget the wisdom found when we slow down: - We discern if the path we're on is even ours 🛤️ - We notice if our values are our own or someone else's 💭 - We realize the unnecessary devotion to irrelevant people or circumstances 🕰️ - We start "seeing" ourselves, rather than the performer 🦋 ... We finally understand that to GO "faster," "harder," or "farther," we must slow down first. 🧘♂️🌱 When you hear (read) the word "rest," what comes to mind? What's your first reaction? #equilibrium #growthmindset #slowdown #performance #leadership

Life Change & Mindset Coach for stressed, overwhelmed women who want to (re)create their dream lives one tiny step at a time/Retired Psychotherapist/mindful yoga teacher/nature & hiking enthusiast
Whenever I'm feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I turn to my mindful practices. If I'm really anxious, I'll find a way to move my body. If I feel ungrounded and know that a few moments to breathe will do wonders, I'll do a breath practice like this one and then go to my journal. I love the symbol of infinity and find it calming to breathe my way around it, whether it's sitting with my eyes closed and creating it in my mind, or drawing it in my journal and following the shape with my pen as I breathe. I invite you to explore. There are more mindful practices for stress, overwhelm and anxiety in a booklet I created called: Mindset Magic 101 - The Daily Magic 3 M's. It's got movement and breath practices, as well as simple journal prompts. Change your mindset by changing what you do daily.
