January is going to be interesting. Two automated lunar landers from Intuitive Machines of Houston and Astrobotic of Pittsburgh are going to launch and hopefully land on the moon with a cadre of payloads including those commissioned by NASA via the Commercial Lunar Payload Service (CLPS) program. These first two independent missions are just the start of a series of landers which are an important precursor to the return of humans to the lunar surface. I was lucky to have visited Intuitive Machines recently and got to see the Nova-C Lander in their new facility at the Houston Spaceport just prior to it being shipped to Kennedy Space Center. Best of luck to Tim Crain and his team, hopefully earning the title of first US lunar landing since Apollo 17 in 1972!! https://lnkd.in/gfPuQdRw

Will be interesting to see who is able to mine asteroids in space and use the materials on the spot to build space-based assets (without having to bring the raw materials back to Earth)

The new sensor capabilities enhance the probability of success on lunar landings while reducing size, weight, and power requirements for these systems. Thanks NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration for sharing this very interesting project. This combined and modified compact sensor can be used for multipurposes missions, and the gain of weight, combined with the reduction of the dimensions will be very usefull in the future ! While landing on the #moon remain a very difficult task, we can hope that this sensor will help next missions like #artemis to be done more easily ! I am very interested about the capacities of this sensor in debris removal, because this field of application is still very new, and there is a lot to do in here.

CRYOGENICS IN ZERO GRAVITY: As we plan for future interplanetary spaceflight, one major aspect remains untested: refueling in space. That’s because most rocket propellants are cryogenic liquids whose long-term behavior in space is still unknown.
