In my project with Autodesk Inventor, I converted a 2D sketch of the toolpost into a 3D model and then assembled it. Starting with drawing the details of each part in 2D, I then converted them into 3D shapes with precision. Once all the parts were complete, I put them together in the assembly process, ensuring each component fit and functioned together. Seeing the transformation from a simple sketch to a complex toolpost gives me immense satisfaction. #AutodeskInventor

Been having fun using my 3D Scanner to make models of parts to help in the design of the new three-link coil over suspension for this 1965 IH Scout 80. All parts were modeled and assembled in SOLIDWORKS, and the sheet metal brackets were all produced using SolidWorks Sheetmetal tools with recommended parameters from SendCutSend.com. A design table was used to pull dimensions off the model and organize them in order to help obtain the values for roll center, roll steer, pinion angle, caster angle, and anti-dive. Now time to scan and model the steering components to design the steering system.

I've been waiting years for this feature. This should make Drew much faster. Silhouette edges are edges that are not really there, like the contour of a sphere. It used to take solidworks 1 full second to calculate a single line. Asking how many lines there were was just as slow. So I kept asking them for a fix and they kept saying No. But they did fix it! I just ran into this new setting for "hardware accelerated silhouette edges", available in solidworks 2024 🎉 If this does what it promises (I need to find the time to test it out), this will make adding dimensions in Drew much faster for parts that have many curved edges.
