When you are seen by others, it elevates everything.
You don’t have to be creating content to get noticed. Recognition comes through association.
Being recognised via connection provides so much opportunity. From visibility, to work, to building closer connections.

Annual recognition event: honoring our colleagues!
Today we held our annual recognition event, a special occasion where we celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our colleagues from High Five Health Promotion and Westfield Health. This event reminds us of the importance of acknowledging not only successes but also the positive impact a colleague has on their team and the company culture, celebrating both achievements and personal qualities.
Our core values play an essential role in this recognition:
- We Care: the ones that have shown they genuinely care about others, whether it’s our customers, colleagues, or the community. Their empathy and commitment make a world of difference.
- We Are Explorers: this one is for the pioneers, those who aren’t afraid to explore new paths and embrace innovation. Their curiosity and creativity drive us forward continually.
- We Own It: this category recognizes those who take responsibility and deliver results. They are reliable, proactive, and their dedication inspires us all to do our best work.
- We Are In It Together: here, we honor the team players who foster collaboration. Their ability to connect people and work together makes us stronger and more united.
Each winner has demonstrated themselves exceptionally in one of these core values. Thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible and to all our colleagues for their ongoing dedication and hard work!

🔍 Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall, Who’s the Fairest of Them All? Spoiler: It’s Not Always Who You Think 🔍
Guess what's next? I’m about to unveil a perspective that might turn a few heads—and maybe even ruffle some feathers. Are corporate DEIA awards the gold standard of diversity and inclusion, or just golden trophies on a shelf?
Keep an eye out for my upcoming paper, where we delve into whether these accolades truly reflect deep commitment or are just surface-level nods. Are we celebrating genuine achievements, or just the illusion of progress?
👀 Stay tuned and prepare to peer beyond the shimmer. It’s time to challenge what we see in the mirror of corporate awards.

Chances are, you may not have thought about Age Discrimination..? I hadn't either until recently, it seems the older I get, the more I become aware of my own unconscious biases towards getting older.
This was my first time chairing our DEI group, and I really want to drive actions from conversation, so here are my take aways...
One of the many things we discussed was how people (particularly younger people!) are less likely to recruit older people. For me, I certainly recognised this in myself when I recruited for a role in my 20s. Upon reflection, I think I felt threatened and wouldn't know how to manage/lead someone with more experience. My own insecurities could have got in the way of someone else's opportunity.
I've been doing some self-reflection, and have so far committed to the below as a starting point:
1. Stop looking at the education section of CVs to gauge how old a candidate is...age is not an indication of maturity Catherine! 🤦🏽♀️
2. If I find myself interviewing someone older than me, don't be threatened by it. Different experiences make strong teams (you should know this by now Catherine!)💪🏽
3. Be age inclusive: recruit from all age groups, create an environment for shared learning, plus identity and support issues specific to older workers 👌🏽
4. Use age inclusive language: older and younger. No need for anything else 🗣
Thank you again to everyone involved! I'm already looking forward to the next 🙌🏽
