Dave Sanderson’s Post

Under our recently updated Portfolio Policy, samples from some of Phoenix Labs' unreleased projects have started appearing online, including projects Oni, Ra, Bismuth, and others. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and it is my sincere hope that such samples help our amazing former colleagues and suppliers secure new work. The reason I'm posting this is to express my gratitude to Ian Johnson for being supportive of this policy update and to Phil Yee and Ryan Tremblay for their invaluable help in drafting it. Creating this one document was a notable ray of sunshine during an otherwise extremely difficult time. Even if these games will never make it into the hands of players, it makes me so happy to see some of that hard work out in the world.

This is an incredibly valuable thing to have achieved for everyone impacted. Seriously, man, you and everyone else who recognized this issue and pushed through the solution should get a medal. Also the work looks great and I'm now sad the projects won't come to fruition all over again.

This is absolutely incredible news! Thank you to all involved in making this possible. Piranha was an absolute dream project to Art Direct, and I’m beyond excited to be able to share some of the amazing work that we were able to accomplish during our time on it.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the teams who can now share their creations from these games. Even if the titles won't ship, the creators who poured their hearts into this work can use the samples and that's a big, big deal!❤️

Much love to you and the crew that made this happen. It's going to be invaluable for all our colleagues that poured themselves into those games to be able to show their work. I'm looking forward to seeing those portfolios pop up!

This is not the norm and it speaks to the extent of support provided to the team. I started seeing some posts and when reading “unannounced”, I thought, most companies would keep everything under code of silence. Bravo for taking a different approach especially if it is related to these team members’ hard work.

Yessss this is a great achievement for all artists and suppliers involved. I truly wish it was the norm. Artists literally live of being able to share their work - a canceled game can mean hiding years of work and professional development so allowing them to share it it huge! Congrats on making this possible!
