I’m always excited for the opportunity to talk about how technology is helping American Airlines run a safe and reliable operation for our customers. The most recent example is the eAMLs — or electronic aircraft maintenance logs — which we’ve implemented (… ahead of schedule I might add!) on our entire Boeing 737 fleet. So what exactly is an eAML? This new tool lets pilots send in real-time maintenance related discrepancies to aviation maintenance technicians (AMTs) on the ground, giving AMTs time to research the issue, gather any necessary parts and meet the aircraft at the gate to immediately start working to correct any issue. Not only does it save time for our team, but it helps us continue running a reliable operation by reducing maintenance-related delays and cancellations. Kudos to the entire #AATeam — Tech Ops, Flight and IT — involved in this important program! Next up is the Airbus A320F fleet at the start of 2024.
Congratulations! Just looking from the viewpoint of functionality; even many years ago when I had a glitch during a flight, I used to send a simple ACARS message to the MCC about the occured problem or glitches, saying consider this for the next maintenance dispatch of this airplane. It worked quite well. Recent years were the ones electronic AMLs were in use.
I cannot reach anybody to email or post an expensed reimbursement file that will not submit on the website. I would appreciate an email address as nowhere is there a postal address for international baggage claims. Thank you. My email is [email protected]
Well done Harry. You are clearly a leader in this area. It harkens back to some of the initiatives you started at NWA. Congratulations to you and the many that I’m sure were on the journey with you.
Nice job. Talking about technology, why can’t employees book their flight from the AA app instead of going through all the websites steps?
Congratulations Harry! This is one of many numerous. When it comes to finding a way to apply technology to improve the environment for the front line and improving the business, you are an Icon. I am sure you lead a large diverse team to make this all happen so congratulations to them as well!
Electronic logs are so much easier to read and access, this is awesome news!
Excellent work and advancements for Tech Ops!! Well done Harry! Your drive for innovation never ends!
Congratulations! Working to improve the airline and reliability is all good.
Open minded to new career opportunities
7moIs that the planes black box the pilot is holding? Could they not digitally compact the plane’s navigation data system into a smaller compact computer system update it and transfer it onto a tablet so the pilots could remove it and carry it. Integrated software computer program that can be easily downloaded if there is ever an aviation error/accident . It’s just a thought .. interesting read ..
