Do you know how our youth are doing, as far as mental health and wellness? Here are some tips for parents and educators to help young children, middle and high school students and college students as they head back to school: https://lnkd.in/g3ZDAMpV From National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): "As we gear up for the new school year, we understand the importance of mental health for students, parents and educators. That’s why we are adding to our comprehensive youth mental health resource library this back-to-school season. Navigating the challenges of academics, social dynamics and personal growth can be overwhelming but, together, we can build a resilient and thriving community. Our resources aim to support educators, guide parents and empower students on their mental health journey during the school year and beyond."

Thanks for sharing our upcoming info session on Elementary Teletherapy, Tracy A. Spinner!
🧠 Professional Learning Opportunity 🧠 We’ve heard from educators that behavioral and mental health concerns are showing up in increasingly younger students. With schools as a main access point for mental health services, there haven’t been a lot of equitable solutions for elementary-aged solutions. Because of this, Daybreak Health has a new Elementary Teletherapy program. We’re holding a brief info session with our National Clinical Director, Juan Trevino, to share more about this program that's designed to treat elementary-aged students (ages 5-12) by working with their parent(s) on common behavioral and/or emotional challenges. Join this info session to learn more about how this program will support the mental health needs of younger students. https://lnkd.in/gGG3qKbj

As we continue through Mental Health Month, we are sharing more local resources and services aimed at supporting you or your loved ones on their mental health journey! 🌟 🌟 Today, we are highlighting Ashley Mariano, the Prevention Coordinator for the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio, as he shares the importance of mental health resources to our school systems, as well as recognizing the importance and need of trauma-informed care. 🌟“It is very important to focus on prevention in school districts. Prevention is a way to move “upstream” rather than focusing on current crises and being in a state of having to react, we can start to be thoughtful about what supports our students need and start to integrate those things…There’s a great movement in the county that supports trauma-informed care, and we just want to push that into school districts as much as we can, because we know that for student success, we cannot just be teaching them the academic pieces and ignore their physical, behavioral, and emotional parts of themselves. So, we are whole-child focused and it is so important to us to be able to support that need.” 🌟If you are a parent of a child in need of these services, START HERE: Talk to a school counselor: ESC has curated resource lists for every school district that they service, so, if there is a specific need around a type of mental health concern, those school counselors can easily find a provider on that list. Or contact the Help Network by calling 211 or visiting the website at https://lnkd.in/gkqwJtcW Together, we'll navigate this journey with compassion and courage. 💙 Stay tuned for more resources throughout Mental Health Month! #MentalHealthMonth #WhereToStart #StartWithHope #YouAreNotAlone #mentalhealth #kidsmentalhealth #traumainformedcare #MahoningCountyMentalHealthandRecoveryBoard #MCMHRB #ESC #AshleyMariano

Effective school mental health programs are critical to improving student well-being and academic achievement, but little practical guidance existed for school leaders on how to establish robust, district-wide, comprehensive school mental health systems. To meet this need, we established the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute School Mental Health Executive Learning Communities (ELCs), which provide one-of-a-kind opportunities for executive school district leaders to learn and collaborate on best practices and leverage existing systems to build and improve their school #mentalhealth programs. We are currently in partnership with four Regional Education Service Centers across the state, serving 52 school districts representing a total of over 600,000 Texas students. #BacktoSchool2023
