It was a refreshing debate among (Flemish) MEP candidates yesterday. With more respect towards each other and more focus on the policy content, you can feel it's more about 'us versus other member states'. Voka-Vlaams netwerk van ondernemingen presented their EU manifesto ahead of the #euelections2024. The focus on #competitiveness, #internationaltrade and a workable #sustainable transition is in line with other business associations and affirms the loud call to the European Commission to slow down on the regulations but rather improving what we already have. Although not in the manifesto, #migration and #defence were brought up by some panellists. On this #internationalwomensday2024 it's worth noting that women were not strongly represented in this panel. So much has been achieved already. Let's hope at least half of the panel will be female in 2029.

Very motivating to listen to Valentino Izzo from European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) at today's EU Clusters Talk of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) of the European Commission about how the skills are addressed by the cluster community. And encouraging to see the empowerment (of women) and diversity as seen important across the cluster ecosystems.
