Although the first charter school opened over 30 years ago, many parents remain unaware of what charter schools are and how they operate. What is a Charter School? California's charter schools are tuition-free, public, and open to all students. California charter public schools have rigorous curriculum programs and unique educational approaches. In exchange for operational freedom and flexibility, charter schools are subject to higher levels of accountability than traditional public schools. Charter schools offer high-quality education options to communities. In fact, 70% of Californian parents support charter public schools and 72% agree they should have more public school options. https://lnkd.in/gqJU_q9r #communitymontessori #dimensionscollaborativeschool #personalizedlearning

Reflecting on my journey as a teacher, it's been an incredibly challenging yet rewarding experience. The demands placed on educators are significant, and it's disheartening to witness the struggles within the current public education system. The challenges we teachers face have demonstrated the need for meaningful improvement and support for both teachers and students. As I navigate through these difficulties, I'm exploring opportunities beyond the classroom to contribute to positive change in education. #Teacher #TeacherLife #AdvocateForChange

Myth vs Fact Series Opponents claim public charter schools are harming traditional ISDs either financially or by bringing down their academics. Both are untrue. A ten-year analysis of the 41 counties with public charter schools revealed that traditional ISD operating budgets in those counties either increased or stayed the same 80% of the time. The remaining 20% of traditional ISD budgets decreased by less than 1%. Student transfers to public charter schools do not negatively impact traditional ISD performance. Looking at the 41 counties with public charter schools during the 2017-18 academic school year revealed that the percentages of students approaching, meeting, and mastering grade level did not tend to decrease as charter enrollment increased. #sapicbs #tpcsanews #txed #txcharterswork #iwilltriumph Texas Public Charter Schools Association Triumph Public High Schools San Antonio Charter Moms Sukh Kaur, Ed.D. Adaptive Teaching Consultant• Creator of The Principles of Adaptive Teaching and The Five Stages of Adaptive Teaching
This alone would prevent so much damage within the secondary education system: "Planned adaptations to the curriculum for each lesson is inclusive of the knowledge strengths and weaknesses identified for all the children in each class" Universal teaching is a driver of inequality. Adaptive teaching is child centred.
