#VC24 Quote of the day 👉 "The Bike Taxi makes me feel like I am part of society. I don’t always feel like that because I’m in a wheelchair. It is more than going from A to B, it is a community" - Lucas, regular client of the bike taxi 🤔 What are your thoughts on this? It was so valuable to learn the perspective from a disabled person in this way. Especially the conversations and experiencing (as far as possible) and seeing what a public transport journey is like for them showed the added value of experiential knowledge as well. #ervaringskennis #cliëntenperspectief #addedvalue #livedexperience #experientalknowledge
The past two days, I was out with Cliëntenbelang Amsterdam, where we explored the accessibility and inclusivity of the city of Amsterdam with guests from Canada, New Zealand, and Scotland. Breaking down barriers and enabling participation ++ To mark International Day of People with Disabilities, we want to highlight that #diversity and #inclusion are firmly anchored in our sustainability strategy. Let's continue to break down obstacles! Wheelchair-accessible charging facilities, like our Audi charging hub in Munich, can be found on the #wheelmap. When designing the charging area, we made sure that wheelchair users have enough space to open the doors and move around the vehicle. The payment terminals can be lowered to a wheelchair-friendly height at the touch of a button. And thanks to the innovative swivel arm, the charging cables can be moved to any position on the vehicle without great effort. Click here for the wheelchair-accessible locations on the Wheelmap: https://wheelmap.org/ #Audi #FutureIsAnAttitude #DiversityAndInclusion #WeTogether #charging #eMobility

🚆 Empowering Accessibility: Prasarana’s Initiative for Persons with Disabilities in the Klang Valley 🌟 Great news for accessibility in the Klang Valley! Starting February 1st, all OKU cardholders will enjoy free rides on Prasarana’s mass rapid transit (MRT), light rail transit (LRT), monorail, and bus services, thanks to the initiative spearheaded by Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. This move aims to make public transportation more inclusive, with Prasarana coordinating efforts to implement a ticketing system and issue special concession cards to persons with disabilities (PwD). By simply presenting their OKU card and applying for the special card, PwD users can access these services at no cost. Loke emphasized that despite the financial impact on Prasarana, the decision to provide free rides for PwDs is part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. This bold step enhances accessibility and aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by fostering inclusivity and ensuring equitable access to transportation services. This positive development aligns not only with SDGs but also with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Making public transportation more accessible contributes to environmental sustainability by encouraging its usage and reducing reliance on individual vehicles. The commitment to enhancing safety and comfort isn’t limited to accessibility alone. Loke highlighted the success of the women’s coach pilot project, which has shown a decline in reported cases of harassment, demonstrating the effectiveness of initiatives promoting safer public spaces for all. Read more about this impactful initiative here: https://lnkd.in/gPT4WHHu #AccessibilityForAll #InclusiveTransportation #SDGs #ESG #PublicTransport #SocialImpact Let’s celebrate this step towards a more inclusive and sustainable future through accessible public transportation! 🌍

“Barrier-free access only matter to persons with disabilities.” True or false? False! While accessible physical environments enhance the independent living of persons with disabilities, they benefit seniors, parents with prams, cyclists, shoppers with trolleys and many others too. We’re excited to see the fruition of our partnership with Singapore Land Authority (SLA) on OneMap over the past year, and look forward to its expansion across other parts of Singapore. As the focal agency and sector enabler for disability and inclusion, we have also avidly supported SmartBFA's crowdsourcing efforts in mapping out barrier-free routes through the Enabling Lives Initiative Grant (funded by Tote Board and managed by us). Let’s continue working together to innovate for persons with disabilities, and build a more inclusive Singapore together. Read the below article for more on this partnership. #InclusiveSociety #EnabledLives

Accessible Racing Life. Promoting Motorsport event accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. A passionate advocate who champions equal access, diversity and awareness.
Why do you enjoy motorsports so much? Is it the thrill of an adrenaline rush? The fast cars being pushed to their limits, the crowds of people, the smell of burning rubber in the air? Are you completely able bodied? Have you ever stopped to wonder what it’s like for people living with a disability? Have you ever stopped to consider the fact that every day tasks that you take for granted might actually be difficult for people with disabilities? Societies expectations for people with disabilities have created such a negative perception of what it’s like for them to function from day to day. When words like ‘useless’ and ‘pathetic’ are thrown around, they can make an individual feel as though they’re a burden to society. Moreover, these defeatist attitudes can have immeasurable consequences for people living with disability and serve to contribute to severe social isolation. Nobody deserves to be defined by their disability. Nobody deserves to have to live with the stigma attached to this discrimination. Nobody should have to feel ashamed of who they are and what their body represents. We depend on event organisers to make reasonable adjustments so that we too can enjoy Motorsport events. With demand at an all time high, accessibility needs should be at the top of your list when it comes to circuit considerations. It’s time to listen to people with a lived experience. We have voices, we deserve to be heard. Fans who are engaged with their sport, their drivers and their teams create a positive and uplifting atmosphere of unwavering support. #F1 #Accessibility #Inclusion #AusGP #DisabilityAwareness
