Well informed from Kiel to Lübeck People travelling by train want to be kept well informed. zweigrad has designed a compelling passenger information system for NAH.SH GmbH transport association, the usability of which has also impressed Deutsche Bahn. This system informs travellers about journey times, platforms, connections, the next stops and any required connections. The seating capacity of the individual carriages is also displayed to ensure even occupancy. During development, zweigrad focussed not only on the passenger journey, but also on matching the NAH.SH brand image as closely as possible. Requiring a balancing act between the recognised standards of the industry and the new design language. For example, the lift symbol must be instantly recognisable and at the same time express NAH.SH's own style. If you want to experience the new information system, you can already see it in action on the Kiel-Lübeck line. Passionate about influencing by Design | Designleader for & Speaker about the Business Value of Design
Create passengers experience always as a touchpoint within a hole system of a passenger journey. As a regular rail passenger and designer at the same time, it was a matter close to my heart not only to design the NAH.SH GmbH passenger information system together with my colleague Martin Reuthe but also creating one digital passengers touchpoint within an ecosystem of digital support and information systems for passengers. Interestingly, in this design project we were designers and users at the same time. It was therefore an exciting experience to combine critical scrutiny of the existing system and our own solutions with the requirements and, above all, the logistical experience of NAH.SH. Here, too, it was important to focus not only on the product of the passenger display on the train, even if that was the initial task, but to understand this touchpoint as one interface among several in order to optimise this passenger display. This project has also shown how valuable it is to create a common framework with different perspectives and requirements in order to achieve the best result. Thanks to Marina Ehlerding and Fritjov Kinder for the sparring and the open-minded dialogue at eye level. What experience do you have if you are both a designer of desirable products and a user of these products? #valueofdesign #collaboration #designformobility #NAHSH #passengerjourney

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024 is complete 🏎🏁 At the heart of this motorsport event was the incredibly exciting Future Lab (curated by Lucy Johnston). It was a space full of fascinating organisations at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, doing things that will change the future for the better. Airlander is one of those technologies. Airlander is all about doing things better - better connections, better services, doing it in a better way - with ultra-low emissions and by 2030 - zero emissions. It got us thinking about the future of events like these. Maybe one day we will see Airlander providing logistics solutions for events like Goodwood Festival of Speed. Getting the masses of equipment and people to and from the event in a sustainable way is a significant challenge. Perhaps by the end of the decade Airlander will be providing logistics support, or a place to film the track from, or a platform for security surveillance - all done with zero emissions. #Airlander #RethinkTheSkies #FutureOfFlight #GoodwoodFOS #FutureLab #Innovation #WrapUp #Event

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗮𝗦 Theory and practice - what's the quickest way to get around the city? We explored this question at our HAFAS User Conference 2013 and organized our own rally through Hannover. The locations of the participants were tracked in real time and transmitted to the Hannover Congress Centrum. Public transport, stretch limousine, bicycle rickshaw, Segway, baby stroller, horse-drawn carriage, recumbent bike and many other means of transportation formed a truly multimodal field of contestants. Can you guess which mode of transportation won back then? Or perhaps someone still remembers it? #roadto40 #nostalgic #mobility

S-Pedelecs in Brussel, today and in the years to come… Thomas Dufrane BX1 invited TRAXIO Velo Filip Rylant & Specter bikes to #LeTram to talk about how speed bikes are positioned in the market as well as in traffic. Why S-Pedelecs are so popular in Flanders and how the market could expand if regulations were harmonized on a European level. Not only S-Pedelec brands and their users would experience the benefits, also other European metropolises could see an actual shift in their traffic difficulties. As much as I like cars myself, we have to admit that E-Bikes and S-pedelecs are much more efficient while commuting. And as mobility is changing, today you pass multiple kinds of cyclists on your commute. We all know that cyclists do not always have the required space in traffic. That the permitted speed is not always respected. But also other motorists are sometimes completely unaware of the legislation for cyclists, even in Flanders people are not always aware of the place that the S-Pedelec user is allowed to occupy on the road. This often leads to dangerous situations. Therefore our call for a harmonized traffic code and to treat each other more courteously in traffic. #specterbikes #extraordinarybydesign #speedbike #speedpedelecs #specter1 #specter1longrange #otaupdatedebike #retinkthespeedpedelec

🙋♂️ To conclude IBTTA's Global Road Safety Week, we would like to show an example of how ROADIS, as an industry, is constantly looking for new ideas to innovate and contribute even more to the safety of users. 🚧🚨📲 This project was implemented in 2022 by the Concessionaire of the A-4 in Madrid. It involves automating a process of warning highway users through the popular navigation portal Waze. Every time the signalling arrows of a highway maintenance vehicle are raised, a notification automatically appears in the application indicating, in real-time, where the highway vehicle is stopped so that the user can drive with special caution. 💡 This is a success story for ROADIS as a project developed in one of the company's concessions through our #innovation funnel. At ROADIS, innovation is one of our attributes. Through new ideas, we want to increase the safety and value for users of our assets. #BeSafeTogether #YourSafetyOurPriority #roadsafety

Navigating the Parking Challenges of the 2024 Euros ⚽ As the 2024 European Football Championship kicks off in Germany, new research into the driving experiences of fans across Europe has revealed that parking is one of the ‘biggest stressors’ for football fans on game days. EasyPark Group surveyed 11,000 people who were both drivers and football fans in a new research census, and the results showed that is wasn’t only the matches that were causing game-day worries: 💡 36% of football fans find parking near stadiums a major stressor on match days 💡 23% spend over 20 minutes searching for a parking spot 💡 17% have received fines for staying too long Cameron Clayton, CEO of EasyPark Group, said, “Events like the 2024 Euros highlight the importance of having an efficient traffic management system. Leveraging mobility solutions, cities can better prepare for increased footfall, ensuring smoother traffic flow and maintaining the livability of urban spaces.” 🌍 With nearly three-quarters of European fans considering attending the Euros, and approximately one third of them planning to drive, cities like Berlin and Hamburg are bracing for a surge in traffic. This underscores how vital effective traffic management infrastructure is, and why it’s important to ensure it is powered by technology and data.
