Being in business is fucking hard. The path is not always lined with victories; sometimes, it's the setbacks that shout the loudest. I’ve had my share of Fuckups along the way, some self inflicted, some because of other people’s decisions. Today, I find myself reflecting on such a moment—a day when the gap between where I am and where I wish to be seems insurmountable, I am lamenting another Teasdale Fuckup. It's a sobering reminder that no matter the intensity of our efforts, the outcomes aren't always in our favour. I've been immersing myself in the wisdom of 'The Gap and the Gain,' a book that serendipitously landed in my hands on a day when the need for its lessons felt most acute. The message it harbours is both simple and profound: the importance of focusing not on the deficits (the gap) but on the progress we've made (the gain). It's about shifting perspective, from what's missing to what's been achieved—and the power such a shift holds in rekindling motivation and purpose. This reflection couldn't have come at a more pivotal time. I’ve been asked to give a talk by the amazing Tim Ward at the inaugural Fuckup Nights on 17th April in Middlesbrough at Flock. Have I got a story to tell. You’ll never see it on social media but I’ve decided to tell it, warts and all. The challenges we face, no matter how daunting, carry within them the seeds of new beginnings. If there was one piece of advice I could drop on your right now it would be this: "Championships are won in the summer" It's something my old high school basketball coach always said. Basketball was a winter sport, and most of the guys on the team played 3 sports, so the only real off-season was when school was out. Aka the summer. You always heard it during those easy season practices when the guys who got ready before the season started had a huge advantage over everyone else during tryouts. They were sharper. More skilled. Better conditioned. And it showed. To everyone. And for years I saw upperclassmen following this guidance make huge leaps going into their senior years after riding the bench for the previous years of their career. How? By putting in the work over the summer. The offseason. While their teammates were off partying and goofing off, they were hitting the weights, getting extra shots up, doing agility drills. Getting better. And so I followed suit. I hit the weights. I put up hundreds of shots per day. And my senior year...I was that guy having the big breakout year. Averaging a double double (points & rebounds). Helping a team picked to finish dead last in the conference tie for 3rd. This mantra always stuck with me though. Through college I was doing internships getting work and experience. Or taking summer classes to get ahead of my studies since I was on the baseball team and the time demand (including travel) was brutal on studies. And even now. This is when you can really separate yourself. While others take time off on vacations and other things, I'm here working, getting ahead, planting the seeds for my clients' exits. If this is your busy season, obviously your "summer" is going to be whatever your "off-season" is. The slower times. But that's the time to really dive in and get your business set up for sale. So you can take a vacation, and come back to see the business ran just fine without you. That's what makes your business truly ready for sale. After getting it done in the off-season.

Hey LinkedIn family! ❤️ It's been a while since you saw a message from me, and I want to share the reason behind my brief hiatus. I've been immersed in the CEO Challenge Season 2 by Masters' Union, and let me tell you, it's been a dream event! When Season One happened, I missed out, and that regret lingered. But when Season Two was announced, I was over the moon! I told my parents, "Season Two is on, and I'm going to be a finalist!" Though I couldn't secure funding from the esteemed jury—Ankur Warikoo, & Sarthak Ahuja, and Shlok Srivastava —the journey was nothing short of incredible. This event provides students in grades 11th and 12th a unique platform to showcase their skills, validate problem statements, and experience pitching to investors. Shoutout to our amazing mentor, Shubham Singla who not only helped refine our pitch but also provided unwavering confidence. His words before my pitch resonated deeply, giving me the boost I needed on stage. Masters' Union has crafted an exceptional platform, and I can't stress enough how valuable the CEO Challenge is. To my fellow friends, if you are a 11-12 grader or a gap year student, mark your calendars for Season Three, and embrace the opportunity to be a part of this transformative experience.
