I’m excited to be representing ACI Worldwide at EBAday in Lisbon this week. ACI and STET gave the latest update in our long-standing partnership: Over the last 12 months, we worked together to process over 50 million instant cross-border payments in Europe. That is a new record high – and we also expect that number to increase by more than 50% in 2024. The new EU Instant Payments Regulation will drive transformative growth in instant payment transaction volume across SEPA, which includes the 27 EU member states. According to ACI’s 2024 Prime Time for Real-Time report, instant payments are projected to account for 13% of all electronic payments in Europe by 2028 – up from 8% in 2023.
