He also happens to be leading our Intelligent Aging panel discussion tomorrow. Avoid the temptation to do nothing. Virtual Agents are changing delivery with surprising results for patient trust.   Kathleen Mazza, PhD RN MBA, Senior Advisor with Northwell Health offers insights, anecdotes, escalation examples and guidelines for integrating virtual agents into the care continuum for the benefit of patients. I had the pleasure of hosting a panel with Kathy at #HIMSS24 in Orlando, FL along with Providence Health's Andy Chu   These tools, if used well, help patients stay connected and identify patients benefitting from an intervention, at what time, and at scale.   Surprisingly, chat and virtual agents have been incredibly effective for patients uncovering needs and symptoms not normally present in physical exams. Antithetical to most of our interpretations of the gold standard of in person care, Kathy recalls a fascinating and remarkable story of a post-partum depression screening changing the course of treatment in important ways.   Start small, incrementally, use pilots to avoid freezing forward progress when implementing these valuable tools.
