Refusing to accept a terrible diagnosis and then finding a treatment to reverse the condition is something we wish could happen to everyone we care about. Sharing the story here of Dr. Tommy Shavers who not only developed an innovative pathway to treat his own brain injury, but then went on to launch NESTRE Health and Performance to help others. We are only just beginning to understand brain health, #neuroplasticity , and the importance of exercising our brain the same way we exercise our body. With appreciation to the Lake Nona Impact Forum, Tavistock Group, Gloria Caulfield and Toby Eduardo Redshaw who helped incubate this effort. I turned my personal adversity into my purposeful mission. At NESTRE Health and Performance our mission is to make mind and brain fitness a lifestyle for every human performer. I’m thankful for the University of Central Florida, UCF Athletics Association Inc., Lake Nona, Tavistock Group, and so many others for coming along with us on this incredible journey! We’re just getting started.
