Today, we are 141 years young! The drawing below was created by a patient during a previous anniversary. However, it's timeless. This simple, but powerful message, captures the reason the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth founded Mount Saint Vincent in 1883. It's the reason that continues to inspire our work. Whether preschool, pediatric behavioral healthcare or foster care, we support children, adolescents and families so they can live the healthiest lives possible. If you have four minutes, watch this video for more inspiration about why we do what we do https://lnkd.in/g7pgziHR #preschool, #earlylearning, #behavioralhealthcare, #fostercare, #trauma

Registration is now open for June 22.
We are excited to collaborate with Millennium Health and Blacktop Restaurant Group on June 22 at our surf therapy camp in La Jolla in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Both groups will bring employee volunteers and Millennium Health will host an information booth to educate our attendees on the topic of fentanyl. This camp is also made possible by donations made by several donors, grants made possible by the San Diego Foundation, and the CA Coastal Conservancy. Thank you to our generous supporters and partners for helping us address, as a unique community collaboration, the mental health needs of our youngest survivors of domestic violence, abandonment, and neglect.

Serving as the Board President for Nami Pierce County, I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to provide advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. Our core tenets, represented as three sides of a triangle are as follows: 1. Advocacy: Be the voice that stands up for, and advocates on behalf of, our neighbors in Pierce County by pushing for a much more robust and comprehensive behavioral health system at both the state and local level. 2. Awareness: Elevate the conversations surrounding mental illness by providing a forum to learn and discuss the nuances of behavioral health through empathy-driven awareness. 3. Connection: Foster a stigma-free community support environment that has room at the table for everyone facing the daily realities of mental illness, regardless of background As a nonprofit, the main sources of funding are threefold: grants, endowments, and community fundraising. Grants and endowments are critical sources of sustained funding for NAMI’s daily operations, like support programs and community gatherings. And while generous and impactful, at the end of the day they’re more-or-less an exercise in grant writing. What makes community fundraising so unique is that it captures the ethos of our core tenets, enabling the community to join us in advancing NAMI’s fundamental mission. Donating to a worthy cause is inherently an act of advocacy; it raises awareness with your peers and actively deepens NAMI’s connection with the community. It's the reason we have a passion for community fundraising – it allows us to grow our tent a little more each time. If this is a cause you feel is worthy of your support, consider donating a few bucks to the link below, if you aren’t in a position right now to donate, but still want to participate, come join us in walking the Kirkland marina park! It’ll be a fun party. Free event, kids welcome, bring the dog. https://lnkd.in/ejZtBs94

When building our Skool Community, Clifton S. & I wanted to do more than just make another group. The goal of this one is IMPACT. It's why we're proud to donate 1% of Legacy Built's profits to Kid's Hope USA. Before social media, I worked as a pediatric Occupational therapist, and I know all too well how challenging the early years can be for families. Kid's hope USA provides much needed support for young families. Clifton and I often tell each other, "This isn't just a business venture any more, this is a mission." Our primary aim is to elevate EVERY PERSON we come in contact with. Within our community, and in the world. Not all that long ago, we were starting out on this platform at zero. We now realize the real value of community, skills, tools, and network: IMPACT. This community is designed for people who KNOW they need a presence on the timeline, and also know that their goals go WAY beyond just making a social-profile for the sake of it. Starting on the right foot on Twitter/X & LinkedIn was our first step toward the life and business we wanted for ourselves and our families. If you want info, comment "IMPACT" and I'll send you a DM. April is KICKOFF! Happy Thursday, Friends!

Certified Wellness Program Manager - Transforming Workplace Culture through Effective Wellness Programs | Program Design & Implementation + Data Analysis & Evaluation
I love how volunteering is a priority at Baptist Health, because volunteering as a team can offer numerous benefits in addition to benefitting your community. Below are my top 3 reasons why you should volunteer with your team on a regular basis: 1. Sense of Purpose and Fulfillment: Volunteering together reveals that sense of purpose and fulfillment we all crave with the added satisfaction of contributing to something bigger than the daily grind. Creating moments that matter and leaving a positive impact have a ripple effect! 2. Enhanced Communication Skills: Volunteering isn't just about the tasks; it's about honing those communication skills. Coordinating efforts to achieve a common goal in a different setting can create major communication breakthroughs!! This has the potential to create smoother conversations and a workplace where everyone's on the same wavelength. 3. Skill Development and Learning: Volunteering is not your typical office routine – it exposes your team to new challenges, fostering growth and discovery. It is so fun to watch your team members surprise each other with unknown or untapped skills. Incorporating regular volunteering into your team's schedule not only benefits the community but also contributes to a more positive, motivated, and cohesive work environment. Get out there and make a difference, y'all!
Grateful for a rewarding day of community service at the Sulzbacher Center in Jacksonville, Florida! Our incredible team, including Tinesha Spencer, Lauren, Kelley, and Tori Snow, took charge of plating up meals with love and compassion. Together, they packaged over 400 plates of delicious chicken parmesan for the homeless community in downtown Jacksonville. Meanwhile, Rachel Miller, CWWS, Melanie Wood, Cassie Bruce, and Katie Sims, CWPM lent their hands to a broccoli-chopping marathon, contributing to a whopping 200 lbs. of fresh broccoli that was donated earlier that morning by a local farmer. It's inspiring to witness the impact we can make when we come together as a team and continue to serve our community through Baptist Health. The spirit of generosity and kindness that permeated our day at the Sulzbacher Center truly embodies their mission of community service. We can't wait to go back and serve! #communityservice #teamwork #givingback

When guests transition out of KARM programs into their newly restored routines, it can be challenging for them to feel what it's like to be on their own again. KARM's new Aftercare program is their solution to prevent guests from relapsing into homelessness. Susan is the first person to sign up for Aftercare! Keep reading in the shared post to learn more about Susan's story. #ministrymonday #karm #knoxarearescueministries #rescue #relationships #restoration #knoxvillezoo #karmstores #donate #shop #volunteer #outreach #nonprofit #christiannonprofit #breakingcycles #buildingrelationships #homelessoutreach
Meet Susan. She’s a U.S. veteran’s widow who came to KARM when her apartment burned, and is the first person to sign up for our AfterCare program. What is AfterCare? Well, we're glad you asked. You see, at KARM, we’ve learned the transition from being a guest to living in housing can be jarring. Too often, former guests go from being surrounded by people, support and services to being alone. Sadly, this transition can have devastating consequences, even resulting in relapsing into homelessness. AfterCare seeks to ease this transition and help men and women continue their journey toward a fully restored, abundant life and to thrive outside of KARM. Our staff and volunteers accomplish this goal by making home visits and helping former guests connect to a thriving church; community resources; and social & service opportunities in their community. When @Katie Hicks, AfterCare Coordinator, asked Susan, “If money weren’t an issue, what would you do?”, Susan answered, “I’d go to the zoo.” So, imagine our delight when Zoo Knoxville said "yes" to our request for two tickets for Susan and her KARM volunteer, as part of their free ticket program for 501c3 organizations. When Susan was at KARM, she came to learn about and trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior! Katie has this to say about Suan: "She radiates positivity, brightens every room she enters, and you can't help but smile when you walk with her." We look forward to seeing how the Lord continues to use AfterCare for His purposes and glory.
