Time after time it started to feel like home. The culture and the people within the restaurant enhance the experience to make it be something I want to be apart of. What advice would you give to someone interning in marketing? The advice I would give is to be intentional with your learning process. Take notes, read up on things you don't understand, and ask questions. What was your biggest takeaway? This 5-month internship has been able to help me with my people skills and learning how to better market to produce results.

🎉 I am celebrating the Taco Bell Foundation & the leadership of Jennifer Walker Bradbury, Marchela Lavey & Andrew German for partnering with CoLabL to launch PAID micro-internships for #LiveMasScholarship recipients. These 4-6 week experiences include career mentorship, skill development, and group + independent work aligned with scholars' academic and career interests. 👉🏾 WHY THIS MATTERS - Gallup studies show that 40% of college students have had an internship while in undergrad. The 60% that have not (disproportionally first-gen students) cite difficulty in obtaining one, aligning internships and interests, and the inability to afford it as some of the top barriers. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, paid interns are about twice as likely to land a job after graduation compared to non-interns. With Taco Bell, we are committed to increasing awareness and access to these game-changing experiences that help young leaders develop professional connections, level up skills in demand, and build out their portfolio to showcase their skills in action. GIC Industry Partner Awards: Finalist Spotlight This week, we’re continuing to spotlight the finalists of our 2024 Industry Partner Award, as we get closer to announcing the winners at our June 19-21 Global Internships Conference in London! 🥖 Le Bread Xpress: Baking Differences into Opportunities 🥖 A finalist for Outstanding Commitment to Student Development, Le Bread Express is the world’s only hot food vending kiosk that bakes a full menu on demand. Nicolas Gangnant, the nominator, shares his experience: “While working for my host company, I had the opportunity to work on various projects ranging from research and development, to business development, to manufacturing process. I helped develop the food menu that is now up on our website. I also helped develop the company's project management system by creating templates and project plans. One of my project plans is now used to track the manufacturing stages of the machines we produce overseas in order to communicate ETA to customers. Most importantly, the company deserves an award for the integration and kindness I experienced with my manager, coworkers, and customers. It's that time of year - time to start planning for summer internship season. If you work in or around a marketing/advertising/creative team and are considering hosting interns this summer, I'd love to ask that you consider working with college-level BIPOC interns through The BrandLab A few key aspects of our program: 🌟 Our interns are placed into organization in a cohort of 2 or more (DID YOU KNOW: the marketing & advertising profession is about 90% White in the Midwest - we ensure our interns a cohort so they never feel like they are 'the only' person of color within a team) 🌟 A 10-week internship that begins in June, runs through August and includes The BrandLab-administered professional development curriculum.  🌟 The BrandLab recruits, hires, and manages payroll for the interns, based on the job descriptions/role requirements shared by our partners. 🌟 A Matching Event takes place in the spring to allow our interns and partners to opt into a relationship with each other.  🌟 The 10 week internship cohort of 2 interns costs $15k (and covers the cost of the interns' payroll).
