Politico: "GOLDEN VOTERS: Elections in New York are being decided by older voters. Voters aged 50 and older composed 71 percent of the electorate in the Feb. 13 special election won by Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi to replace disgraced former Republican Rep. George Santos, according to a report compiled by Gotham Government Relations " https://lnkd.in/ebAwpbX6

Turnout. it’s one thing to engage those voters who are going to vote. It is a one step conversion. the superpower is to engage those registered voters who vite less frequently or simply don’t vote. This is a two-step conversion. this is difficult, but the potential payoff is there. #Elections #Politics #Voting #VoterTurnout #EVUS

The quickest path to responsible government and accountable politicians is through OPEN and competitive #elections. That's why Veterans for Idaho Voters (V4IV) is fighting to bring the Alaska Election Model to the Gem state in 2024 (read more below). In 2024, 8-10 states will have ballot amendments or legislation to reform their uncompetitive election systems. It's no surprise that party bosses and political elites from BOTH major parties oppose these reform efforts. Right now, over 85% of our November elections are not competitive. Even worse, our primary election process is closed, or semi-closed to Independent #voters like me. Independent voters pay taxes that help fund public primary elections, but they can't fully participate. #taxationwithoutrepresentation In most states, primary #elections (the first round of voting) are neither democratic nor representative of what a majority of voters want. Join Veterans for All Voters and the Independent Reform Movement, today, on our mission to implement REAL structural solutions to America's "primary problem." Onward!

Have you noticed a change in our registration numbers this month? In accordance with F.S. 98.065, the Elections Office mailed out 16,688 notices on August 4, 2023, to voters who had not voted in the last two federal general elections, 2020 and 2022, or contacted our office since November 2020. These voters had 30 days to respond to confirm that their legal address is correct or update their address, or they would be moved to the inactive list. Inactive voters are still eligible to vote, after confirming their St. Johns County address. Based on responses received, not received, and notices returned undeliverable, the number of active voters has gone down 15,416 voters. Remember, the number on our website only reflects ACTIVE VOTERS and does not show inactive voters. 📍For more information on list maintenance: https://lnkd.in/erFEJYBs #VoteSJC

Elections should be sufficiently funded. Period.
"This $10 million dollars in extra funding that we are requesting, distributed by the State Board of Elections based on voter population, will allow the counties to have the flexibility they need to meet the needs that you, the legislature, have asked us to do in this upcoming presidential election,” Czarny said. https://loom.ly/7aeD-dQ

2024 is the year of the election and we at CivicPulse wanted to know about recent uncontested local US elections. Our survey in partnership with Professor Curtis Bram at the University of Texas at Dallas asked local officials about the competitiveness of their most recent election, most of which occurred in 2022. We were able to compare results to a prior survey we conducted on uncontested elections in 2018 as well as external sources for state legislature and congressional elections. For those findings check out: https://lnkd.in/eB95dzvC Survey respondents also expanded understanding of local election competitiveness in their communities through open-ended responses. Only 37% of Americans believe the 2024 elections will be both “honest and open” to rightful voters, while 43% have serious doubts about their honesty, openness or both, according to the 2023 Pulse survey findings. (Dis)Trust in Elections: Identifying Who Distrusts the Election Process & Why - PDF: https://lnkd.in/gENbxKFA Distrust in the election process isn’t a new problem, and it will take more than a quick fix to reverse. Distrust among conservative-leaning and independent voters is highest after votes are cast (when they’re collected and counted, and when a winner is chosen). As such, efforts to rebuild voter confidence and trust should focus on informing and reassuring voters about the process after ballots are cast and the protections that are in place to preserve integrity. However, these efforts should take place in the time leading up to elections to preemptively begin building trust in the process as early as possible. Remember: Building trust with these voters will take time. Rather than a one-and-done strategy, it will be key to reach these voters with strategic messaging, delivered by sources they trust, consistently and over time. This report provides a clearer understanding of the root cause(s) of this distrust among our ideal and potentially moveable audience (conservative-leaning and independent voters). #MAGA #Democracy #backsliding #antimajoritarian #authoritarian #Trump #USPolitics #insurrection #electiondenialism #radicalright #AmericanConservatives #trumpism #collectivenarcisism #autocracy
