Department for Business and Trade -- I am old enough to remember Dr Vince Cable introduce the Green Bank - to support innovation. At the time he was outspoken about Death Valley of innovation and the fact that by supporting innovation there would be a considerable increase in productivety and the economy. Various Departments return to this space - what stands out for me as a Death Valley innovator - Foreign owned companies are feted with ££Millions in funding - really the creation of jobs. Whilst UK innovation and innovative companies are left to attempt to take out loans which are not going to happen for a company which is unlikely to genrate income for months if not years. My heartfelt suggestion is High time that you research UK owned Innovative companies - funded those companies and retain the eventual profits in the UK economy instead of Profits to foreign owners. 1wMany innovative British Startups are being forced to leave the UK due to the lack of proper R&D funding support. It may be worth trying to retain those businesses before encouraging overseas interests to come in.
