Gabrielle “GB” Blackwell once said in her newsletter "you are only as good as your mis-hires as a leader" that quote should hit HARD for ANY leader, especially a first time #headofsales or #vicepresidentofsales who are trying to do it all - revenue, process/enablement and talent creating a winning team, especially in #gtm takes a lot of intentional work problem is, so many leaders lean on their own personal biases, vs a strategy - for that reason, I think a lot of GREAT reps get passed on building a winning team takes time, effort and KNOWING your rep$ - what resources and education do they need, and truly knowing where their strengths and gaps are recently, I interviewed 42 founding #sdrs for a multiple headcount #seedstagestartup to find the REAL bar raiser$ - and as I spoke to reps at scale, I built an account talent matrix to track who we expected to perform while numbers are REALLY important, so is their ability to ask for, and take coaching, and show growth and understanding throughout the recruiting life cycle goal is to always know what reps needs what, so they can put their best foot forward in order to meet/exceed my clients expectations reality is, most leaders don't have the time, or energy to REALLY get to know their reps, especially during recruiting where a 40 minute zoom isn't really enough time to REALLY understand how someone learns, works and performs I learn more about candidates BEFORE, and AFTER an interview, than I do on our first call - so it has always been important for me to keep revaluating the candidates I am working with, beyond my initial understanding - how do they follow up - what new research have they done & how do they present it - what follow up post interview questions do they have - what work they are willing to put in to meet their goals - the quality of their drip campaigns, and other receipts after given feedback - how bad do they want it recruiting is one of the most difficult sales positions out there, especially if you want a team that will bring RESULT$ and not churn be intentional, communicate and give the talent a chance to wow you it is amazing what people can accomplish when they know the game they are playing good luck selling & scaling <3 #saleshires #salesrecruiter #salesrecruiting #salesgtm #saassales #itsdestinyrecruiting #vcfundedstartups #gtm #gotomarketsalesteams

Hiring is tough, especially when you’re making the decision based off of a few structured interactions. Most orgs have much less structure in their workflows than their interviews. Great approach here D!
