Effective January 1, 2024, public school districts in Illinois can utilize design-build contracts to increase efficiency and effectiveness in delivering projects, thanks to the recently signed bill P.A. 103-0491. Euro Quality Coatings supplied 107 louvres as part of a colourful design scheme for Winterstoke Hundred Academy, a secondary school located just outside Weston-Super-Mare. The school embarked on a significant expansion project to accommodate up to 900 additional students. This expansion, funded by Homes England’s Housing Infrastructure Fund, aimed to provide modern teaching facilities to improve educational outcomes for students and serve the needs of the growing local community. International Living Future Institute created the Core Living Building Certification using 10 non-negotiables from the Living Building Challenge as the baseline to make our communities good for everyone. We’re really proud of the work of the entire team on this project, which met certification requirements after demonstrating 12 months of energy and water use that were above requirements.   We think Core Living Building certification is a game-changer for everyone who owns, designs, or constructs building projects.
