Daimler Truck NA, Navistar, and Volvo Group NA sell around 70% of the big trucks in the US, and they’re serious about accelerating their sector’s switch to electric. These #eTrucks also offer high charging power with MCS (750 kW) and CCS (375 kW) standards. In combination with the variable positioning of the CCS charging port, these vehicles are engineered for efficiency and convenience. 💥 The first 200 eTruck units are set to hit the road by 2024, paving the way for larger-scale production starting in 2025. HDV announcements are coming thick and fast, modular scalable battery solutions such as the ones mentioned in the article below are a great way to manage payload versus range and will help fleets achieve the right balance between range and costs. We've been working with fleets and TCO cost parity is coming closer in high value uses cases. The EV Rally gave us an opportunity to see what electric vehicles can do. The Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK eActros 600 certainly turned heads and it was incredible to see up close and personal how it performed on the public network. Paua observed charge sessions in excess of 350kW but this particular curve is very eye-catching. It peaks out at 349.8kW; a Norwich GRIDSERVE site record. The total session ran smoothly for 1hr 40 with 422kWh delievered. Shared load with a parallel charger led to drops in charging speed during the session. The battery cells are based on LFP chemistry and ran at full power until 94% when the load started to drop off. Certainly interesting for the old guidance of "move on at 80%" With a max CCS speed of 400kW (and over 1,000kW on MCS) this truck pulled some serious Paua!
