Managing Consultant at South Pole. Nature & Biodiversity

In the space I work, sometimes I feel hopeless: climate change has already increased temperatures by 1.1 C , changing weather patterns and giving us a hint of what we can expect if we don’t work towards keeping the temperatures down. In addition, wildlife populations have fallen by 69% on average since 1970. Only now I can see how companies are starting to take an holistic approach at nature and climate. Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Matterhorn Glacier in Zermatt, Switzerland, and I got filled with hope and admiration. Hope because I thought I would never see a glacier. Admiration for all those pioneers that came to those mountains first, with no appropriate gear or clothing but the wish to show this amazing place to the rest of the world. And then I realized that we can do this. We can become nature positive. We have the power to protect and conserve this Earth, restore it and even regenerating it. Thank you to all of you who are already on this journey.
