There is no perfect time. There is only the time WE DECIDE is perfect. The day WE see the stars as aligned is the day that WE MOVED into position, looked up, and CHOSE to see the stars as aligned. What better time than now? Our needs and wants have been waiting for us to respond with action. They have been waiting for us to no longer wait for a perfect time and/or for us to wait for persons other than ourselves to address them. No one has... and no one will. So the question again is, what better time than now? Well, at THE NEW BLXCK, say "The Time is Now" For generations, we've asked, campaigned & petitioned in some way or another for change...and nothing has been done to adequately solve our issues. Let's decide that time is now...and make it happen. It is time we control our destinies and build our own table instead of begging for a seat at one. It is time to prioritise ownership & begin to properly benefit from the indispensable influence we have on the various industries to hold up this economy. #THISISOURSTNB We are who we've been waiting for... and we are more than equipped and ready (to make real what many of us never thought possible). No more just talking. It's time we start doing! Remember, "I am because we are"! Join us @thenewblxck in creating a legacy. After 05.05.2024...there is no going back! The industry as we know it will never be the same. Subscribe, share, like and comment. The time is now! #THISISOURSTNB #THENEWBLXCK #BlackEmpowerment #BlackEconomics #AllBlackEverything #DianeAbbott #DoForSelf #BlackMedia www.THENEWBLXCK.com

This could be the wrong place for this kind of post. Heather Davies, Communicating Sustainability is now well used to my rambling thoughts. As we've spent the last few weeks thinking about the Re-Action Collective voice and message with the support of some brilliant people, thank you ✌️John Brown and Isabelle Drury. The Re-Action Collective started after reading Jon Alexander's book "Citizens", and ever since we've continued to develop around the core idea of being a citizen not a consumer. The result is that Re-Action is about rejecting a broken system, and building collective agency. For me the high point of Re-Action has been the brilliant campaign, conjured up by Heather, #citizenfriday. Personally, I've grabbed hold of this campaign with both hands and spent the last few months being a citizen on Fridays. It has been a mind opening experience. I've given myself space, time in the outdoors, read, volunteered, listened, played, I've done anything really other than be a consumer. Citizen Friday thoughts have entered every aspect of my life. In a short space of time it has fundamentally changed me, and I've shed the very last part of thinking of myself as a consumer. I've just "Let it Go". Jon Alexander talks about the Citizen story emerging everywhere, and how you just need to tune in to see it. I'm part of a Collective that is shaped around the emergence of the citizen story, and I'm fortunate to see it everywhere. So much so, that when I listen hard I can find it in some odd places. Take this track from Bru-C a British MC and rapper from Long Eaton, Derbyshire. His lyrics touch on the distractions I've removed through Citizen Friday, and about letting the consumer story go. They talk to me about the work I've been doing with Karl Brown on the social media platform Curv, and they speak about the power of collective action. Jon Alexander will be the first to admit that the citizen story will not take hold if it resides in our world alone, it needs to make it into popular culture. Maybe this track is an example of just that happening? This platform is not the place where you'd usually find the lyrics of a British MC from Long Eaton. Anyways, here are few lines. The system is so frightening though, Temptations are inviting, woah I've been scrolling for ages, Global control by the matrix (Let it go) I write rhymes for a reason Bru-C, I'm fighting for freedom (Let it go) Young people lost ain't no one giving them guidance, listen to I, There's so much pressure to achieve, but I'm looking at success and what the definition be Make perfection on a screen but content is what they're never gonna be, Newest car or the truest heart, real happiness is finding happiness in who you are Eyes glued, likes, views, its a big distraction One voice ain't gonna strike but if millions came to unite we could (Let it go) ------------- It might sound a bit crazy but I think Bru-C and I, are on a similar journey!

In the Year 2525 by Zager and Evans is more than just a song. It's a cautionary tale that warns us about the potential future of humanity. The lyrics paint a bleak picture of a world where technology has taken over. People rely on pills to dictate their thoughts, machines take over basic bodily functions, and human connection becomes sterile and artificial. The song ends with the extinction of humankind by the year 9595, hinting that our dependence on technology might lead to our downfall. However, there's a tiny glimmer of hope at the end. The song repeats, suggesting that maybe in another reality, humanity learned from its mistakes. In today's world, where technology is advancing at an incredible pace, this song serves as a reminder to be mindful of how we develop and use technology. We need to ensure that we don't become overly reliant on technology and that we continue to nurture human connection. Let's learn from the warnings in this song and use technology to better our world, rather than letting it lead to our downfall. #technology #future #cautionarytale #IntheYear2525

How Advertisements Harms Our Brain = We kind of know this: Advertisements Harms Our Brain but: How exactly? For that, I invite you to watch the video below: Megan Thee Stallion - It's Prime Day [Official Video] = Here is how advertisements harms our brain: They inject Philosophical Corruption to mess with your life. Philosophy teaches us to consider, reflect, and reason effectively. It challenges us to question our assumptions, understand different perspectives, and articulate our ideas with precision. Philosophy serves as a beacon of intellectual clarity and moral guidance, inviting us to engage with fundamental questions about ethics, knowledge, meaning, and the human experience. To understand the corruption process, you may need to read the following book: Enough by John Naish For millions of years, humankind has used a brilliantly successful survival strategy. If we like something, we chase after more of it: * more status, * more food, * more info, * more stuff (see the Amazon Prime Day Ad) Then we chase again. Its how we survived famine, disease and disaster to colonize the world. But now, thanks to technology, we've suddenly got more of everything than we can ever use, enjoy or afford. That doesn't stop us from striving though and it's making us sick, tired, overweight, angry and in debt. It burns up our personal ecologies and the planet's ecology too. One of the main themes of the book is that human brains evolved in a period of perpetual scarcity. Consequently, Naish argues, we are naturally inclined to be maximizers. We are constantly seeking more food, more money, more information, more stuff. But, in contemporary, developed countries, we aren’t living in scarcity; we’re living in abundance. And under these conditions, Naish argues, our maximizing impulses backfire. Very often, for those living in contemporary developed economies: * more food is just fattening, * more information is just distracting, and * more money is just more problems. The book is about trying to find that threshold, the point between too little and too much — that is, enough. We urgently need to develop a sense of enough. Our culture keeps telling us that we don't yet have all we need to be happy, but in fact we need to nurture a new skill the ability to bask in the bounties all around us. ENOUGH explores how our Neolithic brain-wiring spurs us to build a world of overabundance that keeps us hooked on more, as the following video urges us to: Megan Thee Stallion - It's Prime Day [Official Video] This video corrupts your brain to develop a sense of Enough. There are millions of other adverts constantly bombarding so that you may not think about what is best for you. The survival solution is to: Switch off your TV, Smartphones, Tablets ... Turn them into: Black Mirrors Or else be prepared to have your brain fried to: Charred Black Now watch the video: Megan Thee Stallion - It's Prime Day [Official Video]
