Happy Canada Day Eh! 💖 As Canada Day, rolls around, I find myself reflecting on what this day means to us. It’s not just a moment to honor our values of inclusion, resilience and working together, as well as a time for reflection, and gratitude. 💖 Some fun facts about Canada ✨Unlike many countries, our celebration isn’t about a war, but a peaceful request to Queen Victoria by the Upper & Lower colonies of Canada to form our own nation. ✨The second largest country in the world. ✨One of the longest highways in the world and the longest coastline is in Canada. ✨Basketball was invented by a Canadian. ✨We have more lakes than any other country. ✨Canada is famous for Niagara Falls, Banff, and the Northern Lights. ✨We’re a major producer of maple syrup. ✨Poutine originated in Quebec. ✨Canadians are known for tolerance, sensitivity, political correctness, being polite, saying ‘sorry’ & ‘eh’ ✨The beaver is Canada’s national animal. ✨Our border with the US is the longest unprotected border in the world. ✨Often known for its cold winters. Coldest recorded temp: -63 degrees C ✨Famous Canadians: Michael J. Fox, William Shatner, Martin Short, Jim Carrey, Celine Dion, and more, plus ‘The Rick Mercer Report’ is a must watch for Canadian satire. As in most countries, it wasn’t all glory. It’s also important to acknowledge and remember the difficult times as stepping stones towards reconciliation and a brighter future. 💖 On this Canada Day, let’s cherish our opportunities and freedoms we enjoy daily and be truly grateful for these, and grateful for being a good neighbor to the US. 🚀 Today, I’d love to hear your favorite Canada memories and what you’re grateful for in your country. I don’t usually post personal things on LinkedIn, but today, as I celebrate Canada Day, I find myself reflecting on this incredible country’s past, present, and future, as well as my family’s place in it. Not many people know this, but I was not born in Canada. My parents immigrated to Canada when I was young, and I watched them make countless sacrifices and work long hours in odd jobs just to get our family by. They did this because they believed in the Canadian dream. I am a living embodiment of that dream. The level of social mobility I have experienced within my relatively short lifetime would have been impossible anywhere else. Regardless of whether someone immigrated 20 years ago or 200, the dream has always been the same. For millions of people, both in-country and abroad, Canada is a beacon of hope—hope for a just and free society, and hope that no matter who you are and where you come from, a better future is possible.  I recognize that Canada is not perfect. Like many countries, it has a complex history full of injustice and tragedy. However, we, as a society, have recognized these mistakes and are actively working to do better. Canada has made tremendous progress, and that is the true hallmark of any great nation. I love Canada, but I am also concerned for its future. The freedom and democracy we often take for granted were hard-fought and, if not protected, can easily be lost. The Canadian dream is becoming increasingly out of reach. The values and unity that made this country great are slowly eroding. Nevertheless, like my parents, and generations of Canadians before them, I have hope that a better future is possible. With that, I would like to wish my network a joyful Canada Day and a happy birthday to the greatest country in the world!

Canada needs to change course! An economy built on immigration alone could not be sustainable. We need to develope a Canadian-based economic system that includes: natural resources, industrial production, innovation, construction, infrastructure, Canadian Aerospace and Canadian automotive. Why is Government subsidizing the foreign automotive industry? They come they take and they leave, Aren’t we able to design and build a Canadian automobile for export to other countries? With all the subsidies offered to Stellantis, Wolksvagen and Honda we could have built a state-of-the-art mega factory ourselves to manufacture an all Canadian EV, We have enormous potential in the Aerospace industry Why are we allowing foreign investors to buy the Bombardier C series when Canadians taxpayers contributed to the development of such beautiful aircraft? Hopefully a new leadership in government will keep some of these ideas in mind.

Warmth in the Cold: Beyond the winter chill, there's a warmth in the Canadian spirit. The kindness and friendliness of the people make every frosty day a little brighter. 4. Safety & Security: Feeling safe is a priceless gift. Canada's commitment to security and the rule of law provides a foundation for a peaceful and thriving community. 5. Healthcare System: This is a bit controversial. But come on it's still free and they are trying to fix it. 6. Love the Canadian Seasons: I know some people complain about the cold but hey not all of Canada is a snow land. And you get to enjoy the summer barbeque and the winter skiing. 7. Canadian Politeness: The list would not be complete without this. "Sorry" is practically a national anthem! The politeness and courtesy of Canadians create an atmosphere of respect that I've come to appreciate more and more. . . .
