"Home Fortification: Making Your Sanctuary a Fortress" "Picture your home, your sanctuary, suddenly becoming the frontline in an emergency situation. Home fortification isn't about turning your residence into a military base; it's about making it a fortress of safety and resilience. While it's comforting to think that walls and locks offer enough protection, the reality is that true fortification goes beyond physical barriers. Ignoring this aspect is like owning a car but neglecting to insure it; you're vulnerable to unforeseen calamities. #HomeFortification #WindowReinforcements #DoorSecurity #Surveillance #SafeRoom #HomeSafety #DanielKilburn

"Amidst the terror and tragedy of the day came these everyday heroes who answered the call when the city needed them most." ⛴️ Tugboats 🛳️ Ferries 🛥️ Charters On September 11, 2001 nearly 150 commercial boats moved an estimated half-million people out of Lower Manhattan. "The 9/11 boat lift begs comparison to Dunkirk, the great 1940 British sea rescue of 338,000 British and other Allied soldiers trapped by the Germans on the French coast. But while Dunkirk is well remembered, the boat lift seems to have been somewhat overlooked amidst the many epic accounts of heroism on 9/11." — The Smithsonian This is why I choose to share the story of the September 11 Boat Lift on the anniversary of 9/11. “The rescuers displayed not only compassion, but also innovation, creative problem solving, improvisation, and really remarkable professionalism.” ⚓️ “We have much to learn from the mariners and other who when the planes struck, stepped out of their workaday lives to become first responders...Over and over again, they chose to help.” — Jessica DuLong, author of Saved at the Seawall: Stories from the September 11 Boat Lift. If you haven't already seen it, consider taking time today to watch BOATLIFT: An Untold Tale of 9/11 Resilience, narrated by Tom Hanks. You can easily find on YouTube. While I wouldn't say 9/11 was *the* motivating factor for my first career in government service, it certainly played a part. There is nothing like being among a group of people united under a true greater purpose. 📸 NYPD #september11 #patriotday #neverforget #resilience

Zomato's Emergency Hero Service: A Marketing Perspective 🚀 Zomato's latest initiative, as showcased in the shared post, highlights an impressive yet unique service: 30,000 of their delivery partners are now trained to provide first aid and CPR during critical road emergencies. This campaign is marketed with the striking message: "We hope you never use this Zomato service." Good Points: 1. Social Responsibility: Zomato's initiative demonstrates corporate social responsibility, showcasing their commitment to community welfare. 2. Brand Loyalty: By training delivery partners in first aid, Zomato builds trust and goodwill among customers. 3. Distinctive Messaging: The use of reverse psychology in "We hope you never use this service" grabs attention and creates curiosity. 4. Visibility and Engagement: The post has garnered significant engagement, showing that the message resonates with the audience. Areas to consider: 1. Implementation Challenge: Ensuring all 30,000 partners maintain their training and are available in emergencies could be challenging. 2. Awareness and Training Quality: Continuous updates and rigorous training are necessary to ensure high-quality emergency response. People's Feedback: - Positive Reception: Many appreciate the added layer of safety and praise Zomato for their innovative approach to community service. - Concerns: Some express concerns about the practical aspects of this service, such as the actual readiness of delivery partners during emergencies. Additional Perspective: Despite this great service, the working conditions of delivery partners remain a concern. These workers often face immense pressure to deliver food on time, risking their lives by breaking traffic rules due to the strict penalties for late deliveries. Coming from low-income backgrounds, they endure significant stress, highlighting the need for better overall working conditions. To conclude, Zomato's campaign is a brilliant blend of social responsibility and innovative marketing. By empowering their delivery partners and ensuring customer safety, they elevate their brand image beyond just a food delivery service. The positive feedback underscores the campaign's success, while the concerns highlight areas for Zomato to address, ensuring the initiative's long-term sustainability and effectiveness at the same time ensuring there own delivery partners safety. Congratulations to Deepinder Goyal and team Zomato for setting the 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 for the largest first aid lesson at a single venue, together with 4,300 delivery partners. 🎉🎉 💬 What do you think about Zomato's emergency hero service and the working conditions of delivery partners? There is a real need for more transparency in the information flow of ports. Too many decisions are based on incomplete data. I think this question is appropriate and global data must be gathered to address it; would this be an aggregation of Pilotage notes? Not every port has harbormasters.
I like to brag on our folks when they do special things. On the evening of March 26th, the efforts of the crews on our Capt Joseph Bisso, Becky S and Alma S averted a major disaster when they grabbed and flipped around the MV Thunderbird (750' long with 46' draft), which had lost power downbound, barely avoiding slamming into the MV Anglo Marie Louise, which was tied up and loading at Convent Marine Terminal. Great job by our mariners!

June 6, 1944 is arguably the world's most important day in modern history. It was the day the allied forces invaded Nazi-occupied Europe. D-Day! On tomorrow's 80th anniversary we will celebrate the bravery of the soldiers, sailors and airmen that help free a continent but how did they do it from a logistics standpoint? #DDay #Logistics #SupplyChain #MindBlown https://lnkd.in/eNzwrVXB

After an intense survey of the area, the comrades realized that retracing their steps was still their best option. Around them, there was only muddy swampland, with deep furrows, marshy ditches, and water-filled channels crisscrossing the area. Then we'll have to build a road said Robin, pointing directly to the spot where they had struggled the truck through the marshy stream. Okay, let's separate the boys from the men and get started replied the lieutenant. Luckily, there is this plastic drainage pipe they would need and whatever pieces of wood were still left, as some had been swallowed up by the ground without a trace. And today, it would be the same: digging, digging, and more digging. But the Deltaforce team was motivated, uplifted by yesterday's success. The most significant challenge in the past few days, apart from the physical strain, was the mental stress. It wasn't clear until the last moment whether they would really manage to free the truck. Encouraged by their triumph from the previous day, they pushed on with vigor. It wasn't just the physical exertion they battled with; the mental strain was equally grueling. Until the very end, uncertainty loomed like a dark cloud over whether their efforts would liberate the trapped truck. It's a story of resilience and determination! The odds may be stacked against them, but this team is determined to overcome every obstacle in their path. Stay tuned as we follow their gripping journey to pave their way through the unforgiving wilderness! https://lnkd.in/exn9vjw4
