The education landscape is changing. More and more families are removing their children from mainstream education, in favour of alternative provision or home education. Why is this? Because they have recognised that not all children (including theirs) can access mainstream learning. A structured curriculum, with a sequential approach, in a behaviourist system does not work for everyone. Some children need another way. They need a hands on approach to interest lead learning. They need someone to remind them that they are just as capable of being successful if they just embrace their passions and jump into those rabbit holes. The celebration of the differences is life changing for those children and their families. We should continue to shout about their successes and ask questions when things are not working. Inclusive education is on the rise, and it's reshaping classrooms in powerful ways. From 2005 to 2014, we witnessed a 9% increase in special education students spending the majority of their time in general education settings. General education teachers, often with limited special education training, now play a critical role. The 2004 IDEA amendment requires at least one general education teacher to help create and implement each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). As we advance inclusivity, it's crucial to equip our teachers with the right training and resources. Together, we can ensure every student thrives. #SpecialEducation #InclusiveEducation #TenPoints

Strengthening the expertise of educators is fundamental to a flourishing education system. 💛💯 NEG-FIRE plays a key role in fulfilling this objective by offering in-school training and hands-on support to teachers. We collaborate closely with teachers to collectively craft and shape inclusive, joyful classroom-learning environments. Our collaborative initiatives with educators actively contribute to NEP 2020's mission of empowering teachers and nurturing student-centered learning.
