It combines a power system with a thermally driven refrigeration system to provide cooling and heating. CHP systems require maximum utilization of both electrical power and heat, and can achieve efficiencies as high as 90%. Developments in power systems include improving efficiency of internal combustion engines, microturbines, and fuel cells.
