Dmitri Sapeguin’s Post

Today, history was made as General Jennie Carignan became the first woman to take command of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as the new Chief of Defense Staff! I had the enormous privilege of working for General Carignan for a year as her Aide-de-Camp when she commanded the 2nd Canadian Division. I can confidently attest that she is an exceptional leader, a true warrior, and a remarkable human being who embodies authenticity, humility, and passion. I've witnessed her tackle multiple challenges, manage difficult situations, and make complex decisions with courage, logic, ethics, and wisdom. Her talent for creating a vision and uniting people in its pursuit is unparalleled. This appointment as the Top General of the Canadian Military marks the pinnacle of her impressive 38-year military career. Among her many accomplishments, she was the first woman to command a Canadian Combat Unit in Afghanistan and the first woman to lead a Canadian Army Division. She also commanded NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) for a year. Her latest nomination was the challenging assignment of leading a culture change within the CAF as the Chief of Professional Conduct and Culture. To this day, I feel grateful and proud to have had the honor of working for you, Ma Générale! Canada and the CAF are very fortunate to have you at the helm, steering the ship through these challenging times. Je me Souviens! https://lnkd.in/egAi3XmZ
