Glad to participate in this year We LEAD event 🎤 made by the BW Offshore team and all the colleagues who get together in multiple offices across the world at the same time to discuss the #SafetyFirst topic. Our Emcees 🙌 Dorthe Plesner Müller Bergholdt and Philip Bronkhorst made this even more engaging. The topic of Safety First was also quite fresh in my mind due to recently read book 📖 “Commit to Safe and Efficient Operations” written by Kris S. Callen and recommended to me by Shakeel Zahir. Two things I got from the book which are extremely useful (many more are in the book also): 1️⃣ Safety processes shall be simple, real and personal, means entire organization need to work to move to this goal 2️⃣ Safety and Efficiency shall be moving towards each other and eventually become a locomotive 🚂 for the whole business of the company

Our local team is helping our business by: -Deriving lessons learnt from recent incidents and -Identifying measures that could reduce impacts on potential future events I have witnessed how Jorge Francisco Velasco López has been ensuring that every plant employee, every shift receives safety incident analysis, conclusions and actions. Myself gathering also homework for different Cepsa Corporate teams that can help us deliver better performance in the future. NOS IMPORTAN LAS PERSONAS.

👷♂️ This week at Menard Oceania, we celebrated the VINCI International Safety Days 2024 event, which began on 27 May. Each year, we reflect on the progress we have made, our safety performance and our safety culture. We remind ourselves of what could have gone wrong and what we could learn from others' experiences. As with every year, this year had a particular theme. The theme was two-fold: ·     the impact of our decisions ·     the significant risks of our activities. On our project sites we ran workshops undertaking a What-If Analysis for a high risk task that each team selected from three available scenarios. We then facilitated them through their own risk assessment. At management level we reviewed the decision making process. A decision is not a point in time but involves data gathering, understanding, judgement and execution. We reminded ourselves the difference between control and influence, and recognised that there is still room for being proactive to influence safety outcomes with better decisions and communication.   👷♀️ It's about engaging, setting the right example and building trust.
